Currys smashed my tv and cut off the plug

They have said the damage cannot have happened during transit of the tv to them and therefore implied it was me beforehand. This is their stance on both cases of damage. The initial screen and corner impact and now the plug being cut. This dispute me providing photographic evidence to the contrary.0

LBC then MCOL ... that'll focus their thinking.1

That doesn’t make sense. The guy picking up the TV surely would have seen the damage if it was already there. The cable was prob cut off due to stop it being powered up due to helf and safetyhelpme1989 said:They have said the damage cannot have happened during transit of the tv to them and therefore implied it was me beforehand. This is exactly what I've said. It makes no sense for them to have taken it if it had the physical damage when they say it did. They also say they have photos of it on the van but don't seem to want to provide me them..photome said:

As above ... I actually spelled it out (without the acronym) in my earlier post.helpme1989 said:

We had our TV damaged by Currys 30 odd years ago, it appeared to have been chucked in the back of the van face down, and came back with the CRT all scratched. They said "bring it in and we'll assess it", but my father decided to suck it up rather than send it back, because it had already taken them several months to repair it.
I watched a Currys repair man break my TV by trying to lever a circuit board out without removing the screws.
My boss once took the Currys service manager for a guided tour around our lab to butter him up as a means of getting his video back because they'd had it for months on end.0 -
I've just refused the delivery of the return. It has further cracks to the screen. No packaging and the plug has been cut off.
Its absolutely mad. The chap on the Facebook chat has passed the info on to be reviewed. Its interesting that there are now more cracks given the engineers stated they don't belive the damagr occoured during transportation. I've taken photos of the new cracks the missing plug and the general state of things in the back of the van. So I'll wait and see what they come back with. I've little hope though.0 -
Just to be clear... it was Currys (not you) that arranged all the courier trips - is that right?
If so, then the situation is as follows:- You say that Currys or their subcontractors (i.e. the courier company) damaged your television
- Currys say that they and their subcontractors did not damage your televsion
So, unless you can persuade Currys to change their mind, you have to make a court claim for damages against Currys. The basis of your claim would probably be for "Breach of Contract" - because they didn't perform their service with reasonable care and skill
You have to provide your evidence to the court that Currys damaged the television - i.e. your witness statement and photos.
Currys might provide evidence that they didn't damage the your television.
The court will decide who is most likely to be telling the truth, and award any damages accordingly.
