Bed doesn’t fit through house!

Sorry to come back but I just realised I forgot to add something to my earlier posts.

What would make me really angry about this is:  "No it wasn’t in writing HOWEVER, he admitted what he had said in front of the Sales Manager when we visited last week, about not knowing that super king size bed bases are head to toe rather than left to right. When we spoke to the sales manager on Friday after the second failed delivery he said that was noted on our account..."

So they accept that you were misled when deciding to buy the bed, but they're going to hide behind some poxy terms and conditions? 

I agree with others (and I think you accept) that you aren't without blame here, but I'd be arguing strongly with FV that if they had not given you an inaccurate and misleading answer to a straightforward question in the first place, then this mess would never have happened.  If only as a gesture of goodwill, they really ought to be putting you right here.

I'd be complaining to everyone, including my local newspaper, but I suppose FV is a source of advertising revenue for them.

We bought a superking very recently and there was some debate on getting it up the stairs as my wife wanted one of those winged headboards which ended up being 5ftx7ft. Had to demonstrate with some pieces of wood how it was never going to get around the hallway and bannister before swapping to a 4ft headboard. The bed was slatted so worked out fine for that but didnt equate for the sturdiness of the mattress and the lack of bend, attempting to get that up the stairs provided an hour of fun and a few paint repairs after.
