so a tightly-phrased, template-based SAR request to Euro Car Parks should help to establish my credentials as both articulate and determined.
You're not actually thinking they will pay any attention to the detail?  You're writing to the DPO who is unlikely to have influence on anything. It's just another SAR for them to deal with, send the guy his paperwork, then on to the next SAR.  Primarily an admin function and process.

But be aware, if this gets down to brass tacks, resulting in an actual court case, anything you've written to ECP could be used as evidence, so in a forlorn attempt to establish some kind of moral/intellectual superiority, be careful what you write!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Hi umkomaas,
Forlorn isn't in it. It's just, as I say, tightly penned, based on the newbies' thread suggestions and legalbeagles' template, as follows:

    Dear Sir or Madam

Subject access request ( Data Protection Act 2018 / General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) )

regarding alleged parking offence <DD/MM/YYYY> at Blah Street Car Park, Manchester.   VRN: MY99 CAR (Red Ford Fiesta)

Please supply the data about me that I am entitled to under data protection law relating to myself.  I should be obliged if you would provide (as a minimum) the following:

    • All photos taken
    • All letters and/or emails sent and received
    • A PDT machine record from that day, of payments made
    • All data held, including all evidence you would anticipate relying on
    • A full copy of the PCN

If you need any more data from me to confirm my identity please let me know as soon as possible. It may be helpful for you to know that data protection law requires you to respond to a request for data within one calendar month.

    Yours faithfully,

    <Little Me>

Why not preempt the inevitable question by sending them a copy of a redacted utility bill and/or a copy of the vehicle's V5c with your information request?

    Hi KeithP,
Did occur to me but I do everything online these days and kinda hoped the inevitable question wasn't actually inevitable. It's all by email anyhow, so I'll root that out as and when I need to.

So you are not going to send any identifying document?

Yes, of course do it by email. Can you not attach a scan of those documents to an email?

Once asked, for sure. Don't even need to scan, come to that (photo, if I can put my hands on paper copy) otherwise I'll see what I have in the way of a utility bill in electronic form.

they wont send out any of your data until they know 100% that you are you, not allowed due to GDPR

That is why we tell people to include a copy of the V5C or 2 recent redacted utility bills (not passport and not driving licence) , as proof that you are you under GDPR

Certainly don't send a scan of your passport or driving licence of course...as has been pointed out endlessly on this forum.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
