Sorry to hear that , BostonTel. You can only go with what you find personally and you have obviously been disappointed-----a rare phenomenon for Ocado customers. I never use app and Ocado's customer base does not really represent folk who are natural app users. But, nevertheless, if your experience happened to you , then it's not good----though I have not received any other such reports, and I keep well up to date with all things Ocado.
I was more pleased to hear your reference to Ocado being "swamped"-------I currently have 650 Ocado  shares, more than I would normally call "healthy" but they have been brilliant since I bought the first medium batch for the long term haul when they were first released 10 years ago at about 150ish.
Sorry I that have wandered     but any mention of Ocado just makes me a bit dizzy

Could it be because of the relaxing of lockdown on holiday accommodation and use of second homes?

That's a really good point, Gers, and highly likely IMHO. That combination had not occurred to me. Thx.

May I put in another one of my recommendations for shopping online with Ocado, surely one of Britain's best companies in its sector. Everything is back to normal pre-Corvid days when it comes to shopping at Ocado. Yes, they restrict the number of paracetamol, antibacterial soaps and cleaning wipes etc. you can buy in one order. But they are always available and always delivered. There are no limits now on normal grocery products, whether fresh, chilled or frozen. Ocado has dealt with the pandemic chaos better than any other supermarket.
    It's really not.
My daughter still can't access the website as she's not one of the 'chosen few' yet amusingly Ocado keep emailing her asking her to update the card she uses for her useless Smart Pass.  She's pointed out several times that they won't let her on site to do that, but emails and Facebook messages are ignored as is any request for a refund of the smart pass she's been unable to use since March.

My 'anytime' pass restricts me to one solitary shop a week on a set day whether thats convenient to me or not.  Prices are up from pre Covid and offers such as meal deals etc are few and far between, a recent Which study found Ocado prices had raised more than any of the other Supermarkets since this began.

I've had orders cancelled with no response, my reserved orders vanished, again with no warning and I'm still awaiting a reply to an email from March enquiring if my order was actually arriving so I could make alternative arrangements (spoiler.  It didn't turn up).  Let's add in to this the three weeks running I've thrown rancid, in date, meat in the bin, the two large tubs of cream that were thrown in a bag with potatoes amongst other things, splitting and coating the entire shopping in cream.

I can point you in the direction of a Mumsnet thread, totalling several hundred complaints from shoppers where it was even deduced that Ocado have been 'seeding' customers by weekly spends pre covid.  This has run into about 3 threads now, almost all complaints.

It has been an utter farce from day one and I can promise you that as soon as this smart pass reaches its conclusion I will no longer be shopping with Ocado.  I can also promise you that judging by the aforementioned thread on Mumsnet there will be many like me.

It's a shame, they used to be a brilliant company.  Sadly no more.

Sorry to hear of your recent experience and that of your daughter. The "special" list has long since been done away with by Ocado long ago ( only Waitrose kept it going for a long time), and I have orders booked twice every week with Ocado from 11 July straight through till 8 August----with no problems. So we each have a different story to tell------and that's what makes life interesting and varied I suppose. Sorry to hear you're leaving Ocado-----they are still, in my books, THE best online grocer. But of course you have to stick with your own personal experiences and I respect your view.

i suggest a read of this thread may make you feel more than a bit dizzy - it includes a lot of now ex-Ocado customers who are not at all happy with their lockdown experience with them

I beg to differ.  Daughter is still seeing the 'not a priority' message when she looked earlier this week.  Worth also pointing out her partner is an IT expert and has cleared all cookies etc.  She's simply not in the chosen.

And lets not even mention the slap on the wrist Ocado had for fiddling trustpilot reviews.

You have already expressed your displeasure with Ocado at length in your previous post, and I agreed that we all have different experiences of different companies for many different reasons.
I respect your opinion; and I respect my share prices in Ocado which were 1,000.00 per share around pandemic chaos in early March and finished today at 2,229.00-----which is not a sign of loss of customers or any faults ( and I have heard nothing of Trustpilot which shows Ocado at 4.2 as it did so well during the pandemic, and the rating has always been high going back many years). And don't forget that Ocado has won Online Grocer Of The Year Award year after year including the last published award result. We'll just agree to disagree and I don't have anything else to say really except that I respect your views based on your own experience. Thx.
