Hi Taxi

Sounds like a plan looking into a new future career. Don't be hard on your self about the hobbies you will probably find alot of people with a family and OH and a full time job don't have time for themselves or a hobby so there is time to discover what you 'like'.

I know it doesn't need a degree but as you are good at driving and want to work for yourself is a driving instructor an option? Don't know much about it but I know that the price of driving lessons and the amount you need is extortionate!

As for hobbies I would have thought your house, your family, money and travel jump to mind from reading your diary

Thanks Keeping motivated...true my family,house,money and travel are my hobbies but I can't make money with them though...LOL.
I love driving but definitely have no patience to teach anyone to drive otherwise it could be quite lucrative.Will keep on thinking and I welcome any ideas.
I'm terrible at making my mind up but am usually happy when I have made it up....I will start to get a life and then that might help.

You will soon think of something that you want to do - just look at all the prospectuses and lots of things will make you go "ooh, I could do that!"

There's no urgency to find out your calling, is there? For now, you and your OH are both making decent money driving taxis, so while it's a good idea to have options for the future, I don't see that you NEED to train for something else right now if you don't feel like it.

Especially when you're a 50/50 taxi driver!

I wanted to ask - do you have to take the examiner round with you in the cab? How do you explain that to your customers?

Definitely take some time to think about it and check prospectuses. Something might just grab you. If it is photography then why not do an evening class to start and see how you like it? It is something you could do as a business but not easy to make a living I suspect. What about house doctor type stuff or declutter support - growing market there and has elements of listening/coaching. Just thinking aloud here - probably way off beam! Anyway sleep well and keep musing about it - something will come to you.

Thanks everyone like you all say I have plenty of time to decide and we are making good money.The examiner does have to come out with us in the car for 1 1/2 hours at a time twice.If the customer doesn't want them in the cab then the examiner needs to get out.They are testing our driving and customer service skills.
We have just got back from todays class and have another day tomorrow and then two exams next week.We have a BTEC exam and a NVQ exam!!!
Then after that they will come with us in the taxi and that will be it.
Hope you are all having a good day.Today the gala winnings ended up in my account.I was going to pay it off a bill but with no earnings for myself or DH I will have to use it towards the end of month bills.

Hi everyone..well, that's my course finished finished for today..thankfully..I'm tired today.We have booked our exams for next tuesday at 3pm!!!!...then all that has to happen is the examiner coming out with us.Then that's the end of that.
Have to nip to garage tomorrow as it feels like the brake pads are going at the back and then I can get back to work at last!!!
