Hope everyone has had a good day.0 -
Perhaps if you get a decent chunk of money and everything else covered, then maybe put some of that aside for taxman..as you know they cometh quite regularly.........Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

hehe love the response to the troll! bless him...always makes me laugh when they say we havent got a life - yeah but at least we've got each other! Pathetic really. Mind you I've never had a troll on mine and am feeling left out...cant someone pretend to be one?!! Great that the bank situation is sorted for you - awful when people give you such different advice but guess we've all had different experiences! If this one doesent work out have a look at first direct.com and maybe barclays online and then compare online maybe to save going here there & everywhere but hopefully A&L will come out tops and ifthe worst comes to the worst at least you have 100!
Your 2008 totals are looking fab! Well done you and you managed a holiday...good on ya girl!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Hi everyone and look whos popped in...nice to see you Whatatwit...
I've never changed banks before so don't know how it all works....I applied online and I phoned them yesterday and they said I was accepted...So I guess next stage is they will send me some stuff out ..so in the meantime will have to just keep putting money in the Halifax account....
I was reading about their business accounts online last night and they are pretty good..it's free banking for the first £4000 per month ...I don't have a business account at the moment though.
I'm not worried particularly about the tax bill as we will have the money anyway.
Was just feeling a little vulnerable as we were plodding along nicely until the accident and my plans/budgets were sorted to put it away and I'd just started to put it away along with my other budget for CCs etc...and that accident just put everything up in the air.
I have some new plans in my head at the moment...they are a bit sketchy yet...and nothing interesting but I do need to have an emergency fund for if anything unforseen happens again...Halifax was the absolute final straw....0 -

Hi everyone..the vplans will be nothing to get excited about..LOL..is just different ways to prioritise stuff etc...but my head is mush at the moment so don't know what I'm doing yet...
Nothing to report today ....the new car passed it's pits today so will be being used from friday as tomorrow is our day off....
Tomorrow we have to take the hire car to have the radio/meter taken out so that it can be returned to the firm wash and hoover that car so that it can be collected by the hire firm.
Have to take all the stuff out of hire car to be put in new taxi.
banking to be done
shopping as we have run out of dog food and bread..lol
fill the new car...
So have a few things to do....
phoned A+L today to check what happens with banking DDs etc....got my answers and was told they had given me a £1500 overdaft...that's good from a bank I haven't had any dealings with.
Hope you've all had a good day..off to check up on you all0 -
Woo! New car ready for the road - excellent! Hope you get those plans sorted - I think getting your head in the right place (well you know what I mean!
) is really important to get things done.
A&L are pretty good on overdrafts.... and they are cheap too - free for a year then only £5 a month!0
