Oh taxi! This is really rubbish of them. I must say, I wouldn't trust Halifax with a bargepole, they were appallingly bad at administering both my old mortgage and a loan I wanted - seems that if you want the slightest bit of personal service, then they're absolutely useless. I really feel for you, and I hope its sorted soon. Good for you for t/f-ing all the money and working the accounts.

My thoughts on Halifax (Bank not town I hasten to add) are unprintable.

UNfortunatley most of the banks are now so big and muddled that there is no common sense. I alos know nothing about business accounts - can you see a business manager somewhere? Or is this soley your personal account.

Taxi - what about Alliance & Leicester? I've been pleased with them. You can pay cash in at a post office. They have a 0% overdraft, pay 8% I think to accounts in credit, and also pay you a £100 cash inducement to open an online account! http://www.alliance-leicester.co.uk/home/index.aspx

You can do alliance & leicester through quidco for £50 too - but check that this doesn't void the £100 inducement.......

Hi everyone,
thanks to you all for the nice posts...I may go for the alliance and leicester one I think.I need to check whether it's salary credits or any credits..if it's any the may go for that one.
I must say that I had excellent service out of Halifax for about 9 years and the bank manager was very friendly.The staff in my branch cannot believe what has happened....they are as shocked as me.I put at least £4000 a month through that account.I'm sure some other bank may like my money instead.They have gone downhill in the last couple of years.They are trying to get there debt down to get a big handout so they don't go under in my opinion.
Enough of that one ...Managed to work from 5.50am until 4.45pm and I'm knackered now.DH went out at 5pm and is working until 6am.I was really busy today so that was good.Trouble is we need to be busy 24 hours a day for the next week!!!!
My accountant has phoned to clarify a couple of things on the books and will phone me over the weekend when he's finished with figures and I'll take my loss of earnings sheets to show him so he can do the letter for the solicitor....
Since coming in I've put the washing on and done clicks etc.Apart from that nothing happening.Hope you've all had a good day x

Hi Taxi. I like your attitude and determination to get this money and refusing to let this beat you.

Its going to be very hard work for a while as you already know but the good thing is you have the ability to be able to do the extra work and get the money.

HI KM..if I don't get enough money together by work ...I'll go to the pawn with all my gold and my daughter says I can use her bracelet as well....Them !!!!!!!s are not getting a penny out of me in charges.

Have just cancelled my Egg card £6500..so that will free some space on my credit file...I also went to cancel my Barclaycard £8700 but they had special offers on but not a lot of use to me at the moment but will hold onto it for now...
I am not going to let these !!!!!!!s beat me.I am not even going to go into my o/d to pay the bills either so that they don't make a single penny off me.

aww taxi just got this...barstewards...I was with lloyds and they wouldnt know customer service if it came up & slapped them in the face..branch manager was lovely but they cocked up my ddm transfers, missed paymets have a dire online system...list is endless. I know first direct dont pay great interest but they cannot be beaten imo for customer service and there arent many banks that give you a tenner if they make a mistake, friendly staff and you can use midland branches to pay in although i do most of mine online...so in short not good interest but fab cust service & i'd rather have that than a few penies extra!!
dont overdo it though...are you in the new taxi now?
