  • I checked my bills, and in fact, I was in debt on every one of them, usually by £20, but in June, they processed DD earlier than bill and I was in credit by £25, so my switch wasn't stopped.

NR don't want people to go and are clearly making it harder for people to leave. Easy answer, if they hadn't hiked up their prices people would not have left.
Exactly. In my case they are delaying the payment of my referral credit. They haven't paid it within the promised timeframe and they keep saying it is being processed and will be paid as soon as possible. I'm sure this is deliberate to keep me with them for a bit longer. But I'm not biting as the credit would go very quickly if I stayed with these prices. Switched out last night and hoping they don't reject it for whatever reason they can make up!
We are having exactly the same issue with them, the person I referred has had their payment but we have been waiting months from first chasing them about it. Had an email last week blaming COVID and staffing for the delay. As you say, I think we'll have to just switch as the whole referral fee will be used up in extra charges staying for much longer than a month

Switch away completed today, register showing now with Symbio.  E-mail received that DD set to £0. Final bill will be just under £5 in credit so we shall see what happens.
  • I have been with Neon Reef since July 2020 on the Aqua One Tariff units 11.66p & standing charge 12.87p (both excluding VAT)
I have been completely happy with the service and any queries have been dealt with swiftly and too my satisfaction.
Yes I have also been notified of a hike in prices but having looked at alternatives I have found the Neptune tariff offered by Neon Reef, units 15.42p and standing charge 18.63 (both excluding VAT) is very competitive and guaranteed for 1 year. I will be staying with Neon Reef for the foreseeable future. I have had prompt and effective replies to a recent billing error which was adjusted within 24 hours.

Those prices are not in the least bit competitive.  For me Neptune would be 15.64p / 21.765p excl and I am paying 12.008 / 9.523 excl on my new 13mth tariff. Quite a difference, 38.4% dearer in fact.

That has also been my experience, the best service I've received from any energy provider in the last 20 years.  It's been a massive wrench to leave.

Bill in account today on normal monthly bill date.  No indication that it is a final bill, just perfectly normal bill except read date is 17th.  Correct as per my calculations, mine in credit and daughter's in debit.  Will have to wait and see what they do next.- they have 10 days else they owe me an extra £30.

I'm confused. I'm on marine which is variable. The comparison is now showing marine v4 which costs much more, but I appear to be billed at the marine rates I signed up to originally. How come they haven't raised my rate? Do they fix it for 6 months maybe? I'm looking at getting an electric car ... I wish they hadn't objected when I tried to switch to a decent fixed rate which has now gone. I only owed them a small amount. Took forever to credit my extra payment and then they reduced my next DD accordingly, I think they want me to be in debt!
