Replacing a washer on a tap

Agree. First thing is to get the handles off, and see what is underneath them. As said the OP may be lucky, and as you say the ceramic disc may be accessible.GDB2222 said:
I had a look at the installation manual you linked to. Obviously too much time on my hands! If this tap is the same, the tap handles pull off and I’d say there’s a good chance the ceramic discs will come out through the hole on top. Probably using a deep socket wrench.Hasbeen said:The allen screw is to remove the spout. As others have said you can pull the handles straight up to remove?
See what is under them. You might be lucky
But that will probably not help, as it looks like the tap will have to be removed to change the ceramic cartridge.
Tiles off. Is the tap side of the bath on internal or external wall? If internal, I would look at gaining access from that room.
Looks like a Grohe / Axor type. 4 hole tile type rim mounted ?

Edit: It looks expensive? usually 5 yr warranty. Did you not keep any paperwork regarding make / name?
OPs photo does show quite a large diameter under turn part so hopefully all will be accessible to screw cartridge out.

cheers thank you - it does look similar to this - I have a plumber round at the moment fitting an en suite and he managed to get the taps off (they had little grub screws) - he said he was frightened to do anything incase they dropped down - as that would mean the panel would come off! He said if I could find the model so he knew what he was dealing with and I think this looks very much like it. FYI this was already installed in the house when I bought it (have been in the house seven years) - so I have no paperwork on who installed it and there are no brands on the tap. Thanks for everyone's input on this I will show him a picture of this link and we will go from there.Hasbeen said:

If you ever feel the need to put a tap in that sort of position. Get one like this.

The whole tap can be unbolted and replaced in five minutes. The one that’s there looks swanky but it’s not very practical.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Thanks for getting back to all. Would not think they will drop down as held by spout. So please get back with any outcome as it may help others in future.PierremontQuaker03 said:
