The tap handles are probably a push fit, by the way.
so should they pull out on the off position?

Hopefully you can get the heads off & can remove the internals or as someone else said the bath will have to come out as you need to get underneath to replace them, taps at the back, fully tiled bath panel, someone didn't like you did they
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

I’m not sure what you mean, but I’d grab the knob on the tap and lift it straight up. Obviously, first check for grub screws and little bits that lift off exposing a screw.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • I have taken a picture of the tap with a mirror behind it and it looks as though there is an allen screw behind it so I can potentially remove the tap - what do you think?

You don’t need to remove the spout? You need to remove the tap handles to expose the valves.

The allen screw is to remove the spout. As others have said you can pull the handles straight up to remove?
See what is under them. You might be lucky

But that will probably not help, as it looks like the tap will have to be removed to change the ceramic cartridge.

Tiles off. Is the tap side of the bath on internal or external wall? If internal, I would look at gaining access from that room.

Looks like a Grohe / Axor type. 4 hole tile type rim mounted ?

Similar to this below. Pages 36 - 37

Edit: It looks expensive? usually 5 yr warranty. Did you not keep any paperwork regarding make / name?

You think it’s thermostatic, rather than just a couple of ceramic discs as the OP described it. You’d have to be insane to install a complicated tap in that position without any access to service it, though. Even if the tap had been okay, sooner or later the shower hose would need replacing.

I suppose the rectangular top plate of the tap can’t be removed to get at the insides?

Actually, ignore my post above, thinking about it again it's probably incorrect.

I had a look at the installation manual you linked to. Obviously too much time on my hands! If this tap is the same, the tap handles pull off and I’d say there’s a good chance the ceramic discs will come out through the hole on top. Probably using a deep socket wrench.
