A lovely new £5 note fluttering along the road this morning. Not a soul in sight.11

Went for a walk in the woods with a friend (between chazza shopping) and wombled a big bag of wood for the fire!
This is especially wonderful as my heating isn't working so I am reliant on the open fire and plug in rads this winter. Free wood is free heating! A big win!Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

The Coinstar gods were good to me on Saturday. Somebody had been collecting spare change in one of those tin £20 money boxes and come in to rip it open and cash in. I knew this because they left the opened box on top of the machine. I saw a glint in the return chute so quickly scooped it into my shopping bag. I thought I'd grabbed a few rejected Euro coins but they turned out to be £2 coins... seven of them!I need to think of something new here...8

@Fruball - any unexpected windfall counts 😊👍🏻
Asked my OH to check the change chute on the Coinstar - no joy this time but it don’t hurt to check in passing 👍🏻😊Lancashire

It's also worth looking on the floor by a Coinstar... Coins get dropped when loading the machine (or perhaps people look at what's been rejected and throw it aside). This weekend, the glint of silver at floor level caught my eye and bending down I could see more just under the front edge of the machine. Scooped it up quickly and counting at home - about £11! Might be a bit obvious to go back with a ruler to go deeper
