I found 2p when cycling on Friday.

Today I've found the hammer equivalent of a Russian doll, it looks like an ordinary hammer, but you can unscrew it to reveal 4 screwdrivers, so that might come in handy. When cycling back I found 21p.

There was a downpour whilst we were shopping for food and heading back to the car with our shopping we found an abandoned trolley with £1 in the locking mechanism. Saw a fair few abandoned carts so made £5 (and a trolley coin) returning them to the trolley store.

That's impressive - I've never had more than 2 on the same trip. Coinstar gave me 22p today though

I reported a distant trolley at a store once and was told that if someone didn't bring it in it would be collected by the local council and would charge the shop £20 to return it.  And that was about 30 years back!!

The Coinstar was good to me yesterday...    a 5p piece and €4.90 - mostly in usable coins.

Sorry, what do you mean that coinstar gave you 22p? Do you just rummage in the machine to see if there are any leftover coins?  All wins are good wins!

Yep - I look in the reject tray as I pass and grab any discards.  Some people presumably never check - or assume that anything thrown out is foreign.  Sometimes it's a mixture, sometimes the last user has picked out the UK coins and left the rest on top of the machine - or slung them on the floor.

Over the years I've had round pounds (put them aside and take to the bank when I have 5 or 10),  plenty of silver, Euros, US coins and completely unidentifiable stuff.
