Locksmith charged my wife £570, is there anything we can do?

This seems to be their modus operandi. Look at the TrustPilot reviews. Loads of rip off stories, together with a number of fake 5-star reviews. It's disgusting how these companies operate.Je suis sabot...1

Hi, we got locked out last night and made the mistake of calling these guys. If you want to join forces, let me know. I will also contact the Trading Standard and Citizens Advice.spaniardclimber said:_Anon_ said:
I've also had a similar encounter within BLAGA VEST, .. just wanted to ask how did you have any luck with claiming back ?Unfortunately not, I went through citizen advice and some other organisation, and nothing happened. The only thing we can do I believe is to put a claim throught the small claims court. But I don't think that will go anywhere, the guy will close the company, and open a new one, that's his modus operandi I believe.Dunno if by joining forces there is anythign we can do...I don't even know a lawyer that can advice..0 -

Doesn't sound like a scam, just a rip off..

They advertise as being local and not charging a callout fee.bermudianmark said:Doesn't sound like a scam, just a rip off..

Will do. I also got a quote from another locksmith and again, they destroyed our lock unnecessarily, then made it sound as if the price they were going to charge would include a new lock but after they had broken our lock, they said the new lock would cost extra which is when I told them to F* off. So even if the trading standard and citizens advice won't do anything I'll then try and claim the money or at least some of it back from my credit card company. I will send them an email today and a formal letter tomorrow.spaniardclimber said:KF8192 said:

The address they left on my "invoice" is
3 Gerry Raffles Square, E15 1BG
The guy that came over to ours was called Toni Mihai (according to his batch) and the 2 ladies I spoke to on the phone were Jessica and Camilla and they gave me a false quote before the guys came. Just in case any of this helps you.0 -

I'm not a lawyer and I don't know any lawyers who could give us some advice...
