I'd respond along the lines of 'that's fine, we'll go ahead with other viewings whilst you consider your position' and see if that focuses their minds.

I can see this all falling apart - getting to be a bit of a long chain. I would be a bit more encouraging to your buyers, they may get into rented and then spot somewhere else that they like more than your property.0

And how would we do that? If they keep their offer after tomorrow and we accept, surely its done unless something happens with the survey etc? As Flugel says, they may find something they like better. Once you're in rented the stress is off to find a place to buy and you can be more picky

Yeah it swings both ways; you might get a better offer and decide to stiff them, they might see something better and pull out. Most rental agreements are 6 month minimum, which is quite a long time.

It's legally possible, yes. But because the LL is unable to apply for eviction until after 6 months it usually never happens.Scythi said:
