    Apple Safari
    Step 1
Start the Safari browser from your computer's desktop. Click "Safari" in the left corner of the menu bar (next to the Apple icon).
    Step 2
Move your cursor to highlight the "Block Pop-Up Windows" option in the menu. Click on "Block Pop-Up Windows" to place a check mark next to the text.
Restart the Safari browser. Both pop-under and pop-up ads will now be blocked by Safari.

Yes it does it directs your mac to ignore that site oh and I was wrong it is eu.retailxeries.xyz I missed the . between eu and ret.....
So I follow those instructions and type in
    0.0.0.0 eu.retailxeries.xyz

dots after zeros apart from the last which has a space?
    You've typed it wrong.

    The correct entry should be

    0.0.0.0 eu.retailxseries.xyx

Also, open Safari preferences and go to Websites > Pop-up windows and make sure no entries (including "when visiting other websites") are set to allow. All should be set to either Block or Block and notify.
Thanks roland that was my fault I missed the s after retailx and before the eries

If I go to Safari in your step 1 I do not have your step 2 options. Did you miss a bit out?

Now there's me thinking Mac's were immune! Well I never.
    Get an ad blocker!

It's not an ad. OP has an ad blocker. Macs are not immune to Malware, this is the OP's doing somehow, same as on a well protected Windows computer.
I'd be formatting the drive if it were my computer but I understand that may seem drastic!
