If you want to reverse it either delete that line of insert a hash # in front of it.

Looked easy but when I get to the bit after putting my password in I don't know where I paste the 0.0.0....etc

It seems to want me to put it where the highlighted hash box is on the top line?

After the last line ideally but it's not relevant , its just to be tidy

Thank you.  I followed that site to the letter, flushed DNS too, emptied cache, closed Safari and started again.

Bang, within 2 minutes of being on the Daily Mail (lots of rubbish ads hence why I chose it) even in reader view, I got the dreaded divert.

    Thank you for trying though.

Does Safari allow plugins/addons/extensions? If yes, check what is installed - you may have inadvertently installed an extension that's causing this problem.

Thanks both, I have Adblockplus.  There are no untoward extensions, in fact there is only one which is the adblocker.

Replace it with uBlock Origin? (It's better IMHO and uses fewer system resources).

Also: https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-nationalsurveyuk-xyz/ ... I suspect the method to resolve it may apply in your case.

    You've typed it wrong.

    The correct entry should be

    0.0.0.0 eu.retailxseries.xyx

Also, open Safari preferences and go to Websites > Pop-up windows and make sure no entries (including "when visiting other websites") are set to allow. All should be set to either Block or Block and notify.
