  • Ahhh ok   If it is a package holiday, and your flights are cancelled then they (LH) are obliged to refund you even if the hotel was open which it isn't going to be on your date of travel by sounds of it.   They can offer you alternatives but you do not have to take it.

You may have to wait until your date of travel for them to act but they should give you the option to request a refund!
Flight you may have to request a refund from separately and they will probably refund directly to Love Holidays.   Seems a strange way of doing it but overall you should get a full refund from L.H. for the cancelled holiday sent back to your card.   Just follow the instructions when you get them and don't be bullied or blind sided into accepting vouchers.   If they refuse to co-operate then see if your bank can assist.   Keep all evidence to show them you have tried and got nowhere with Love Holidays.

Browntoa, are you referring to the OP, or to Ria42? In the latter case, this appears to be a package booking, so if the flights are cancelled, the whole contract is void, so the customer can request a  full refund in 14 days.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

We have a holiday to Greece through LH  24 July, we don't want to go, feel it will not be the holiday we booked, plus if someone on the plane tests positive will all have to self isolate for 14 days, it just feels like we are flying into the unknown and don't want to be guinea-pigs! Now have the problem if we cancel will not get a refund, will have to pay over £1600 cancellation fee. We took out travel disruption insurance with sure start before the lock down but it seems this does not cover self cancellation. We are due to pay balance on 10th July am thinking of emailing LH and asking for credit voucher to be used for future holiday, but don't know if they will agree to this...has anyone else done this?

Unfortunately margaret Love Holidays won't issue a voucher now or if the holiday is up and running but if there are any significant changes they probably will as they know you would be entitled to a refund.   If you don't pay the balance then you will have cancelled and you will lose whatever the terms of your booking state.

If you decide to pay, they probably will not get round to contacting you until the week before, possibly 10 days before if you are lucky (just so many people to get to).    Just keep looking and listening.   Check to see if your hotel will be open for 24 July, and flights operating, if you can but don't do anything until Love Holidays contact you.  They may just give you the option to move to next year at this time, even if hotel is open, depending on the situation  (That is if you decide to pay the balance)   Obviously if it is all up and running as planned and they don't offer a rebook, then you would be obliged to go.

Tough decision margaret - certainly don't envy you.
  • We have a real delema booked for greece 25/8 until 4th sept we have paid just over a thousand and still have a thousand to pay payment for £756 due to come out on the 10/7 but we arnt even paying our full rent never mind go on a holiday if we don't pay we loose £1000 if we borrow money and pay it will we get it back and how can we justify going on holiday when we are so short of money ?

Check that your hotels are actually open, as a lot of the bigger hotels in Greece seem to have decided not to reopen this season. Loveholidays don't seem to be letting their customers know this until the last minute.
  • We booked a family holiday of a lifetime to Florida with Love Holidays last December before Covid 19 - we are trying to change the package holiday dates from October 2020 to April 2021 in the hope things may have settled down and restrictions in the parks are easing so we can enjoy all that Florida has to offer.
We have been trying for nearly two months without success... the last contact we had was a change of dates for the holiday for early May 2021 but they requested payment in full for the hotel despite still awaiting confirmation from the airline provider if they had dates to fulfil the package holiday. We have refused to pay the hotel price in full because they are still waiting for the airline provider to confirm change of flights which has been the case since we requested a change of date some two months ago........ every other week they send a message via manage my booking "still waiting on airline provider to come back to the!!!!!!!!!!!
very frustrating and we seem to be getting know where......
