Loveholidays

LoveHolidays have cancelled our holiday. We paid extra to ATOL protect it, yet they only want to refund the price of the hotel - with a refund voucher! They say we must deal with the airlines ourselves. Jet2 have already refunded LoveHolidays and Ryanair is badgering me to check in! I thought I’d booked a package and would only deal with Loveholidays. I want my money back I don’t want to rebook. Any advice?

On your ATOL certificate does it say package holiday?
Edited to add - though this now seems unlikely as you have 2 different airlines for you flights1 -
Yes. My booking says “the flight-inclusive holidays shown are ATOL protected ....“

In which case if it is a package holiday then you are entitled to a cash refund. How did you pay?1

Paid upfront when we booked by credit card. My husband rang the bank this morning and it’s in a queue for charging back now. I won’t be using LoveHolidays again.0

We are in the same boat. Been reading on a few sites that LH are claiming that they cannot claim flight money back from RyanAir as we are their customer. Others who have tried to get LH to refund whole amount are having little luck!

Jet2 have refunded LoveHolidays and they will apparently be refunding that directly to us. They are insisting on a voucher for the hotel and say that we have to deal with Ryan Air ourselves! The bank says it’s in a queue for charge back and to let them deal with it0

We have a package holiday booked with Loveholidays and our flights have been cancelled. we have "non refundable" accomodation and have confirmation of our accomodation booking so are we able to book new flights ourselves independently of Loveholidays?0

If you booked the flights and hotel together as a package then LoveHolidays must refund you for everything. Now that the flights are cancelled, you can't make use of the package so are entitled to a refund even if the hotel "element" was non-refundable.Haveaquestion said:We have a package holiday booked with Loveholidays and our flights have been cancelled. we have "non refundable" accomodation and have confirmation of our accomodation booking so are we able to book new flights ourselves independently of Loveholidays?
That said, if you still want to go and make use of the hotel, and can get alternative flights then I'm sure you could do, and that would be preferable for LoveHolidays as they wouldn't have to refund you the hotel. But I would maybe try and get in touch with the and make sure they aren't going to cancel the hotel.1 -
When are you due to travel? In any event my advice would be DO NOTHING (if package holiday). Wait for Love Holidays to get in touch. I appreciate this may be like a week before you are due to travel but the reason I am saying this is.Haveaquestion said:We have a package holiday booked with Loveholidays and our flights have been cancelled. we have "non refundable" accomodation and have confirmation of our accomodation booking so are we able to book new flights ourselves independently of Loveholidays?
My daughter had a holiday booked for 12 July with LH (package) She got word in May from Ryanair that her inward flight had been cancelled, panicked (despite me advising her to sit tight) into claiming a refund from then, then found out she had cancelled both flights (outward was still showing as going so theoretically cancelled a live flight), panicked some more and managed to get in touch with Ryanair who said they would offer vouchers! Fast forward to 1st July and she had still heard nothing from Love Holidays but had now stopped even trying! On 2nd July she received an email from them cancelling the full holiday but because she has already accepted vouchers from Ryan air she cannot get a refund of flights in cash. All so very confusing but the bottom line is do nothing yourself, just wait for Love Holidays to get in touch with you even if you are chomping at the bit desperate to find out. They will get to you.2 -
We are due to fly to Turkey 31 July I have had an email from Tui cancelling our flights I emailed hotel they are not opening until 1st August. I contacted LH their reply was no one has contacted them and if both are cancelled they will look for alternative which we dont want. I have type 1 diabetes and my husband asthma the 3 kids don't want to go also. We don't know what to do LH are no help they have our money now so they don't care. Any suggestions gratefully received.0
