If it's somewhere close by, it would be a massive coincidence if the cause was computer related.

For scammers. They're getting smarter all the time, and will no doubt at some stage be able to call victims, record their responses to carefully chosen questions and subsequently splice together appropriate sentences and phrases to fool Voice ID systems. The recreation of the speech that JFK never gave at Dallas because he was assassinated shows what can be done.'Yes, you definitely transferred all your money to the Artful Dodger, the Voice ID system confirmed it was you !'Just another example of the banks not being streetwise.1

No I live in Dorset, and all of my activity is based online. The only time I’ve received mail from the credit card company is about offers etc. Funnily enough it happened on another credit card today at 4pm - reregistered to the same address as the other and I’m furious because I’d called the second cc company to explain what had happened and they still allowed it... thankfully I’ve had that card blocked now too. I phoned my bank and they’ve put an alert on my account - wish the cc companies were as vigilant and helpful.0 -

Do you have a password to get into the account, as well as memorable info?
As certainly as far as our systems go. Passwords are not visible to staff.0 -

The second was closed bar the lost / stolen dept’ which put a block on the acc’ until Monday.1 -
Two credit cards compromised at the same time. That rather restricts the security loopholes.
