dreamypuma said:Just spent 2hrs on messaging and I'm tearing my hair out. Nothing is simple with Sky TV. Was offered Signature service for £17 + Netflix for additional £6. Distinctly average.
Then, he hit me for an additional £4per month for HD. Do people actually pay for HD in this day and age?
I believe that Cinema includes HD as standard now.1 -
Sky is being binned from my house
a humax box will record, pause, rewind etc etc for a one off buy for under £200
Sky Broadband is around £28.00
I can get it elsewhere for £18.00
Not bithered anymore about Sky sport
Iam going to be quids inmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Phoned Sky on Monday & cancelled my package which included Variety (not HD) & complete Sky Sports (HD) for which I was being charged £39 & £15 respectfully. Got a call this afternoon & I have now got Sky Signature (not HD) £15 & complete Sky Sports (HD) £8 on a 18 months contract. To be honest I could take or leave Sky at the moment but when they knock off £31 a month & I still have all the channels I watch its hard not to bite.0

So will biy a Humax box which has catchup, rewind, ff, records 3 chaanels at once.
Costs 200£ approx 3 months sky payment but no more monthly subscrption with the new machine
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Thanks for the Replies everyone.
I contacted Sky again saying I wish to cancel and got straight through to Retentions Department. I have agreed to an lower price but it does save me just over £70.00 a month which I think is a big improvement from previous £5 and £8 discounts I was offered.
