I just think people seem full of themselves and have different views, ideals how they would deal with things. But faced with these things in reality its a different kettle of fish.
Before this happened to mum I might have been joining the majority on my high horse and suggesting the same very things, preaching how its illegal etc to kill bats, but believe me when you see you're mum in the state we did, you would do whatever it takes to make her feel better or safe.2 -

We just wanted to do what was best for mum at the time. You'd do anything for your mum right?
So yes it was acting illegally, but impulses take over.

Plus they are used to their own surroundings and wasn't going to let a few bats drive them out of their home, dad wouldn't hear of it, and I don't blame him.
I just think most people faced with this situation would deal with it the way we did.
Its easy to say on paper, well we should have done this or should have done that, but not so easy when you're not prepared for it, but faced with it immediately. The adrenaline kicks in and you end up doing irrational things, but at the time seems like an only option. Especially when you got your father telling you what to do and how he wants it done. And at the time I dont blame him one bit as hes looking out for his wife isn't he? And I was looking out for mum, so tensions we're running high that day or hour to get the bats out of mums bathroom and didn't even concider if its illegal or not.
Plus we were dismayed by the lack of interest by the council to come out until 4th of July, which is still not until Saturday. But now its been a week and we haven't seen anymore bats, so by the time they get here theres nothing to see.0 -

No way on earth would I hurt one because of that.1 -

sarahandme said:Well like I said already. We asked her that but she didn't want to. That would have meant leaving my dad on his own who is 87, or he moved in with us too which is only a 2 bedroom house our daughter has nowhere to sleep. Besides theres only her single bed in daughters room. Plus our sofa isnt suitable for sleeping in. So you see it wasen't possible or practical.

Instead of only seeing the problem.I guess you'll say next that you don't have Amazon Prime.sarahandme said:I just think most people faced with this situation would deal with it the way we did.sarahandme said:

sarahandme said:I don't have Amazon prime.I rest my case.sarahandme said:And I already told you mum is 86, they are set in their ways, but that doesnt exclude that shes scared of bats. You're skirting around the situation. In what way am I skirting around the situation?I'm saying what I would have done, what my Mum would have done, what my Dad would have done. And it wouldn't have involved harming any bats.2
