How did you pay ?

Also, is the warranty an insurance backed one? or was is provided and administrated solely by Everest?0

If you took out any finance or paid by credit card give them a call to start a S75 claim.0

We had a conservatory installed in June 2019, we encountered a few problems during lockdown and contacted Everest to resolve the issues . We were advised that they would attend to these as soon as their business activities resumed. Yesterday received an email to say that no further work could be carried out as Everest Limited is in administration and Everest 2020 Limited has no responsibility. The only reason we went with Everest (other than the pushy saleswoman) was because of of the reputation and warranties being offered. Do not know which way to turn?0

Advice please!
We placed an order with Everest Ltd in Feb 20.
Since the order was placed they have been bought out by Everest 2020. They wrote to us a few weeks back to say that they would still be fulfilling our order. We are really worried that we are going to get stung as we’ve read a lot of bad press about existing Everest Ltd customers and their remedial works. We’re worried that they aren’t in a position to look after once they have our money & also from what I’ve read I can’t see they’ll be around to honour our 25 year guarantee some how.
My question is, as we signed our agreement with Everest Ltd in Feb 20 (with an expected installation of 10-13 weeks) and not Everest 2020 what are our rights for cancelling? Thanks in advance for any advice.0 -
We purchased windows and doors from Everest with order placed 9th December 2020 and installation carried out in middle of February 2020. The whole process met our expectations of a well known brand and we were very happy with product and people involved. As with all major home projects there were a few teething problems which we approached Everest for alterations to be undertaken. This was brought to Everest's attention in March 2020 but we were advised due to Covid that work would be delayed. All understandable so it was a shock to be told on 22nd June 2020 that company had gone into administration and reformed as Everest 2020 Ltd and would not honour any warranty work.
This I find totally unacceptable as my understanding is that the same management are still running the reformed company and one of the principal advertising tools used was the long warranty the company provided. I have been advised to claim on the insurance policy provided behind the warranty which contains an excess of £100 so I pay to correct work paid for by me to Everest. I have been communicating with the original salesman who has been very helpful and passed my emails to management of Everest who have not responded ,so reflect that they do not have any consideration for past customers. I do not expect to have any Joy from Everest 2020 Ltd , So would advise any future customers to be aware of any warranty promises made by Everest 2020 Ltd (25 years did not last 3 months in our case). The product is good the employees are good but senior management/owners have no scruples of casting customers adrift when it suits them and obviously customer loyalty is not something they understand or care about.
SO BE AWARE !!!

Have you heard anything since?
We had a conservatory fitted in October 19 and we were pleased with the work carried out. Then we find out that the company went into administration this year. I have checked with Installsure, the insurance company involved with Everest to cover the warranty. Found out from them that there is nothing registered or paid for by Everest. So no warranty at all. The management of the company are now forming Everest 2020 and taking the order book with them. They should never be allowed to just walk away and start again. Anyone thinking about using Everest just stay well away as they have done this before around 2004 when Better Capital took over.1 -
We had a flat roof installed by Everest, back in 2010. I chose them as they had a lifetime guarantee, and the feeling was we couldn't go wrong with that. Have to say the installation was a bodge, and the installers didn't know what they were doing, but they sort of got it ok in the end. We had have issues with it over the years though, and recently the paint is peeling off and remedial works are now needed. I have been trying all year in vain to get Everest to come and fix it. Today I got this reply:Due to the devastating financial impact caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, you may be aware that Everest Limited went through a pre-pack administration on June 8th 2020 and that entity is no longer operational.
Everest 2020 Ltd was established to acquire the Everest business and enable future trading. A consequence of the transfer of ownership, is that orders installed by Everest Ltd are not migrated to Everest 2020 Limited. Everest 2020 Limited is therefore unable to attend to offer any further remedy on outstanding issues for orders installed by Everest Ltd, or further progress any complaint or claim against Everest Ltd.I imagine that Everest is legally in the right to do this, but it smells like fraud to me. I would never have used them without the lifetime guarantee, and this is how they got my business. Am sure is same story for many of their customers.
Could we form a group to fight for our rights? Maybe take legal action? Could use some advice here please Martin Lewis?
Or do we just let them get away with it?

Look at your paperwork and see if the guarantee is backed by an insurer or other scheme. If it isn't, and the guarantee is only backed by Everest, then there is nothing you can do.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.1
