Football on TV is not worth paying for in it's current format

I took on a contract with BT for their Big Sport package that includes all the Sky Now sports channels just before the shut down. After numerous calls to BT I eventually managed to pause the package and I now have some credit. With the resumption of football the package has been reinstated and I watched the first televised match. I found the experience totally uninspiring and I really don't think I would want to watch any more of it. It seems to me that the service has been restarted without any real consideration for the viewing public. Just a way of raising money for the TV channels to pass on to foreign owned clubs to allow to pay obscene amounts to their prima donna employees. Is there anyway I can stop my subscription until the product is back with the proper atmosphere that makes watching football on TV an enjoyable experience.

If you were so loathed to give money to fat cat prima-donnas, why did you sign up a few months ago?0

Football clubs are businesses at the end of the day. A large chunk of most club's money comes from the TV deals and the consensus was that if the games didn't go ahead in some form, Sky and BT would be owed a considerable chunk of money from the Premier League (and then I dare say customers would come along and say oh they've had their money back, where's my refund). So by getting them on air and on the TV, that satisfies that and the clubs can use their other methods to generate money to make up for the loss of money at the turnstiles. As an example, according to the accounts for Liverpool to end of June 2018:
Gate and matchday income £81m
TV and broadcasting £220m
Commercial activities £154m

If the football didn't come back financially it was a house of cards.0

Lot of BT Sport subscribers don't like the fact they are forced to pay a high price for the service .High price due to the football payments a sport some never watch ,1

Not sure a lack of atmosphere is going to be a reason to not pay , what would be next, if a game is 0-0 bore draw , a refund due, ? Also your logic is probably a bit off, the sports rights seller, sell a package of games , if they don’t put the games on, they have to refund the broadcaster, once the games are back on , what do you expect the broadcaster to do, not show something they paid handsomely for and refund the punters ?
As far as having to pay for sports you don’t want, because a sport you do want is part of a package , blame the individual sport who wants the money from the broadcaster, and BT are no worse than any other sports broadcaster in that regard

This makes me laugh a little, I have Freeview only and a PC. From June 19th to July 13th., Live games are available free to air on a combination of channels including BBC 1,2 and iPlayer, Pick TV (freeview Ch.11) and Amazon Prime. Euro Sports rewind of classic games and 3 finals are also available on any of BBC 1, 2 & iPlayer. I am watching more football atm than I have seen for a long time.Get the list from the BBC website Sports page.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Watched a bit of "live" football over the past few days. Most of the stuff I watched ,had no atmosphere and seemed like a practice match in the local park.1
