Overnight Stays in England, travelling from Scotland

Hi there,
We have a self catered cottage booked and deposit taken for 10July 2020, but am struggling to find reliable advice regarding overnight stays at that time.
In Scotland' s Phase#2 we are still supposed to remain in our 5mile bubble and not stay overnight (although we won't be staying overnight in Scotland). According to the information on several other booking pages in England, they are open for bookings from 4th July. We may be lucky and Phase#3 will have started allowing potentially less limited travel and according to the Scottish Government tourism is due to resume on 15th July, although what that means is open to interpretation.
Does this mean that if we travel through Scotland on 10th July and stay away for a week in England we may be committing an offense?
All very confusing!
Cheers in advance,

You still need to follow the advice of Scotland as you need to leave Scotland to get to England.

People up here are starting to ignore certain aspects of the lockdown as they seemingly are in the rest of the UK, particularly where they are contradictory and in some cases ludicrous.
There is no one at the Border checking who is going in and out. I have been down to England three times during the last couple of months. Although I am a Key Worker no one has asked me to verify that as in reality unless you are driving at 100mph on the M74 or M6 the Police are unlikely to take any interest in you.
Indeed next week I will be driving down to Birmingham back up to St Andrews then onto Falkirk.
Enjoy your break The Procurator Fiscal will not be troubling you.
Only a fool pays any attention to Nicola's 5 mile rule

That is exactly the attitude that has made the UK have one of the highest rates of deaths in the world.

Really, silly me.sharpe106 said:That is exactly the attitude that has made the UK have one of the highest rates of deaths in the world.
I thought it was more connected to locking down a couple of weeks later than we should have, discharging patients from Hospitals without testing them for Covid 19 into care Homes and general lack of provision of PPE et al in said homes.0 -

People are taking bookings from 4th July as the hope is that overnight stays will be allowed from then but that is not certain - if the infection rate increases again then that announcement will not be made.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

The Government says “people in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland should follow the specific rules in those parts of the UK.”

If it is any help the Tontine in Peebles have sent emails saying they are taking bookings from 15 July for anyone anwhere (not just those within 5 miles - can't wait lol) Unless the next couple of weeks see a surge in cases I would think that self catering accommodation in England is more than likely to be permitted by 10 July (although obviously not 100% certainty but definitely on the cards).
At the moment it isn't permitted and hotels/s.c. accommodation not open so all you can do is wait and see (but I would pack my bags in any case

The OP is not concerned about the property being open it is whether the travel restriction of 5 miles / travelling to England is still applicable on 10 July.0

Agree, but who has the answer? It is looking likely to be lifted and that is all anyone can say at this moment in time.sheramber said:The OP is not concerned about the property being open it is whether the travel restriction of 5 miles / travelling to England is still applicable on 10 July.0
