You're optimistic if you think  the government gives two hoots about that.  They are in a hurry to 'get back to normal' and the reason why extensions are showing only 7 days out is to allow for a rescinding of the extension.  Nobody will force you to book to go to a pub on July 4th but if they decide that that is the date from which extensions cease, then there will be no grace period.  They won't care whether you felt at risk.
If you ordered anything online or bought anything other than basic food during the height of the pandemic you didn't give two hoots about it either however the difference is you didn't give two hoots about the poor people having to go drive vans and lorries delivering the stuff you could have lived without.
So what did you order or buy during lockdown that you would have died without having so people like me were out not just working normal hours but exceeding what was the normal legal limits as the EU drivers hours were relaxed so we could work 7x15hr days without a weekly rest? My guess is plenty.
So I suppose my new baby should live without necessary items?  You do not know me.  Do not judge what you do not know.  It's rather a personal attack also, but I'm not childish enough to tell tales.

Quite what that outburst has to do with getting an MOT is anyone's guess.  Perhaps you are so pro the clown in no 10 that you can't see the wood for the trees.

The "time needed to arrange" is one phone call. Most garages will be open again now. The extension was purely to cover them not being open.
Not just that, some people will still be uneasy about letting someone touch their car as they'll need to disinfect the entire thing or quarantine it.

Alternatively just get in drive home and wash your hands when you get home.

If you want to disinfect and quarantine your car that is up to you but the rest of us have a life.

Just checked my son's car.  The vehicle tax check page is still showing 02 Jul 20 but the MOT check page is showing 02 Jan 21.
edit: the tax page has now changed, looks like they have different update times.
