Lastminute.com refund issue.

    I've had issues with lastminute, I had flights to Orlando booked with them before xmas for this August. 
    They were booked as a codeshare with Flybe, but were flybe for the first leg Cardiff to Dublin and Aer LIngus for the main transatlantic from Dublin to Orlando.
    This was before covid, but after Flybe went into administration they went silent and would not take calls or reply to emails.  Any naming and shaming on social media I did had the same "we'll be in touch" response.  I'm still waiting for any kind of communication from them now.  At the start of April I went to my CC as obviously the service I paid for were no longer able to be provided so they did a chargeback, which Lastminute then appealed against.  The interesting thing is Capital One upheld my side of it and said they hadn't provided sufficient evidence to appeal against it and gave them another 45 days to appeal again.  So at this point if there is still no update to the appeal its sorted or if they do then Capital one said they'd process it as a section 75 claim. 

    Suffice to say I'll never book with Lastminute again

    Section 75 can also be challenged - 30 days to process, 45 days in addition to challenge, but you should get a refund eventually otherwise go to Ombudsman for a ruling and if positive bring county court claim against credit bank
  • Hi, can anyone tell me when last minute let them know their trip was cancelled, due to fly to Las Vegas next tuesday. This should be cancelled as there are restrictions on flying to America. I bought it as a single package holiday from last minute.com but as of yet I have nothing from them confirming it has been cancelled. I’ve checked the flight and that shows it’s been cancelled. Thanks

    Hi, can anyone tell me when last minute let them know their trip was cancelled, due to fly to Las Vegas next tuesday. This should be cancelled as there are restrictions on flying to America. I bought it as a single package holiday from last minute.com but as of yet I have nothing from them confirming it has been cancelled. I’ve checked the flight and that shows it’s been cancelled. Thanks 
    In my case they didn't without  prompting, although to be fair I only got them to admit it had been cancelled a few days before the departure date in early August.

    This is despite the fact BA cancelled the flights in June .

    I had only paid the deposit (luckily) and when it became clear the Holiday would not go ahead did not pay the balance,

    They tried to take it off the card I had registered with them, unfortunately I had "lost it" and they had no details of it's replacement.
    I went straight into a chargeback before the holiday was due to depart and got my money back within a week from Capital 1.

    Try sending an e-mail to customercare@lastminute.com getting them to admit it has been cancelled.

    I do not know what to do. Is there a travel ombudsman group I can contact? The amount is over £230 and is a lot of money.

    Never mind e-mails why haven't you done a chargeback, have you actually read any threads on here or any of the information on refunds published on the MSE site  before posting ?
