How many in your household in that figure? - you might find some useful advice in the first couple of posts for the month (carried forward each month, ahead of the recipes) for things like focussing your efforts and starting to reduce things. Mine was over £700 for three of us when I started. It is under £200 most months now (for two).Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

You've done brilliantly SL to reduce your budget so much. Mine has actually gone up a bit as I now have separate budgets for bulk buys and alcohol on top of the normal budget. Groceries are just stuff I buy in the SM apart from alcohol so includes things like toiletries & paper goods.
We can afford what we spend but I would really like to reduce it a bit but with DH complaining whenever we have anything vegetarian it's very difficult! He even moans if there isn't much meat in a meal, even if there is protein in the form of pulses for example and I have no idea how I can get him to enjoy veggie foods a bit more! He's fine with veggies on the side so that's something I suppose!

Hi Elsie and everyone else, Could you put me down for £450 this month please. I'm hoping to be closer to £400 but as I haven't managed that for months I thought I'd increase slightly.
To include all food, drink, household and toiletries for 2 adults and 3 kids.
Going to do a monthly meal plan today, as our freezers are full to bursting.Grocery Challenge 2024

Hi all, thanks for including me elsiepac. First spend of the month. OH had to get to the bank to set up phone banking, forgotten his log in! So spent my M&S vouchers, we rarely go near M&S. Bought milk, some sweets for OH, two pizzas (reduced), bread sticks, bread rolls and three lots of spices. Total to pay 50p. Also went in home bargains, biscuits for DSiL and DGC, hay fever tablets and Bombay mix.£4.89. Total for month so far £5.39/£200. Hoping to not need anything till at least next week. Forgot to buy cucumber, spring onions & bread yesterday, plus we needed some soft drinks which I also forgot. So another spend today of just over £7.
£194.38/£250 left - away for a week in our caravan so should be very little spending as taking a lot of our food with us
£100/£100 left of bulk fund
