£40.77 for today/£100. Got offered a discount on a food box and took it as well as doing a normal shop too. While the food box is expensive, I've got to say it's nice to just be told exactly what to do and have pre-measured amounts in a bag. One less decision to make.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Hello. So my month hasn't started well. I went to Aldi to buy lots of rolls, Ham and cheese. The good news is I have over 45 lunch portions in the freezer ready for harvest. The bad news is there were a fair few extras that leaped into the trolley. Mainly chocolate. £100 later! Also got a Tesco delivery coming today for essentials. So from £433 to £329 without Tesco later. We're off for a big family bike ride today. Packed lunch and sausages in a bun for tea. Yum! Have a good day all.5

The only good thing about being paid in the week is that I don’t go to the shops until the weekend lol. So no shop for me until Saturday. There is very little going on in the way of breakfast and lunch things but at least we have enough in the freezer to make evening meals. We can survive. I will be buying extra bits for DD’s 18th next week but will take this out of the birthday fund I think since I managed to save on her present. So will report in again.Starting Total in September 2019 = £38287.77

Last night went to Tesco and spent £49.25, the bulk should last two weeks but I may have to go and get a veg/fruit shop after a week. Trying to spend as little as possible so haven't set an amount this month, theres only me and a 'not my cat' that I give treats to! I have done a meal plan for two weeks so hopefully I can keep to it, its mainly plain home cooked food but Im ok with that. Will let you know how I get on. Today for dinner is a risotto (mushroom) and lunch will be a salad.

Milk was off this morning, still in date by a day, and no long life in, so trip to local co-op and landed lucky with reduced bread and mushrooms, plus they had self raising flour in, which I was needing, so grabbed whilst it was there, total £7.80 to start off with.£71.93/ £180.005

Had a few purchases from Amazon since payday and trips to Lidl and Tesco. So far spends total £110.08 of £400.
i think some of these will last longer than the month though.
I might need to order gluten free self raising cake flour mix also,as this one seems to always work as opposed to just self raising flour. Not sure about anything else

Got my 1st order of the month coming tonight from ASD*, should be £42.95. Got plenty in the freezer and store cupboard, so hoping to keep spends low for the first few weeks as I that's where I've been going wrong. I've been spending over half my monthly spends in the first 7-10 days then struggling to keep within budget for the rest of the month, as we eat a lot of fresh fruit etc.Grocery Challenge 2024
