Why still Reward Current Account Halifax?

What are they doing at Halifax?
I 'upgraded' my single account on 15th & got confirmation email. Paid in 2nd £1500 on 17th (just in case £1500+ paid in on 2nd wouldn't count). All seemed OK & I could track rewards.
Just logged in & it has reverted to a Current account. In app help is useless so I phoned. (I know its not urgent but if they don't offer any alternative method of communication...) CS said she couldn't see any note to say why it had been downgraded so transferred me to the 'Upgrade/downgrade team'. That CS told me it had been downgraded because I didn't upgrade within the deadline but that it would automatically upgrade again around 1st July. I asked if that meant I couldn't start earning rewards until after 1st July. She couldn't understand the question and told me to to 'just use the account as normal'. That wouldn't earn me £5pm, but by that time I'd lost the will to live.0 -

My account too still says reward!Bet you wish that you hadn't said that ! Apparently Halifax zapped a lot of accounts from Reward to basic yesterday - even if, like Mrs. P and myself, you'd elected to stay in Reward. They also told me, mid-week, that they were only allowing one Reward Extra per customer - so that was why our joint had been zapped. I asked them to point out where it said that. After a couple of minutes, the call handler said that her superiors were giving her conflicting advice. So its the subject of a complaint - which they promise to respond to - wait for it - in no more than 35 calendar days.Halifax I.T. Why did they leave off the S and the H...
When you phoned up, did you do both in single phone call or separate ones. I did separate ones as I thought it reduced the chance of this happening0 -

I did separate ones as I thought it reduced the chance of this happeningThree, separate, calls.Incidentally, it strikes me that that "call before mid-May" malarkey was a waste of time and effort. All that was required was that some time before the end of June you log in and upgrade the account back to being Reward accounts. In the end, that is what I had to do with all of the Reward accounts we had/have - even though we'd made the calls in May.Halifax IT - F U B A R !0
