Why still Reward Current Account Halifax?

I did not response to their email asking for new Halifax Reward Current account.
However, I remember it said starting 1st June.

Not clear exactly what your question is.

If you mean that despite having taken no action to confirm you want the new Rewards account, your account is still shown as such, then that has happened to many of us  - myself included.

I don't know whether the account name would have changed eventually, as I opted for Rewards Extra on 15th June.

Then your account is changed to the 'free' basic current account that they are providing for those who do not take any action.  So, there's no need for you to worry about being charged a fee :)

That's all well and good, but until the description online and in the app actually changes to current account instead of reward account, how can we be confident that we won't be charged a fee by default?

They're waiving fees anyway until 1st August so it's not an immediate issue.

Do you mean if I choice to Reward (extra) current account, there will waive the fees until 1st August?

Well, mine hasn't been updated from Reward account to whatever the new name is for it, although I know the change has occurred because when you log in to the app as an account holder of the 'new' reward account there is a tracker that shows your progress towards this month's reward.  So, I would say that unless you have the tracking showing up in your app, then you can be confident that you won't (and neither will I since I satisfied all the conditions to not have to pay it for this month).

Yes, due to Coronavirus. It's the same for Club Lloyds. From August you need to pay in £1.5k to avoid the fee.

Thanks. Where is it written in Halifax website? I want to make sure, try to opt to their Extra Reward, and can earn £5

I too did not respond, which means that I should have been changed to just current account (not basic account) from reward account.  My account too still says reward!
