Ordered a hard drive on Amazon. Wrong item recieved... Amazon Deliberate Delays!

1 week is what I am going with as that is what it says on the "Problem with your order" page on Amazons website, and so does the Amazon "Managing Director" for the UK after I emailed them.
Even going by the 1 week that they allow, you were accusing Amazon of deliberately delaying the refund/replacement and treating you like a criminal one day after Royal Mail attempted delivery.
Like I stated earlier, you've clearly decided that Amazon and the seller are criminals who are out to get you and no one is going to change your mind so I'm not going to keep trying any more. To be perfectly honest, I don't know why you even bother posting asking for advice as you never take any notice of what anyone writes.

Ahhh the old escalating to a random senior manager email. Over a hard drive to increase games storage.
You need to get a grip of yourself. If you want Amazon level returns then order direct.
We are in totally uncertain times. lets start with collecting parcels. Right now Royal Mail offer a paltry 8 hours a WEEK to collect parcels.
So the seller wasnt home at 0930 which likely means they are at work,so collecting parcels isnt so easy.1 -

Because I paid with my debit card, it would be covered under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act of 1974 would it not?
I'm not even sure if you have a chargeback option here either ... @born_again might know (if they can be bothered to trawl through the emotional rants to pick out the salient facts).
As to the OP. Amazon do not have your money the retailer does. AtoZ refunds will come from Amazon unless they can claim it back from retailer.
And you are expecting Amazon to do that when you have not even given the retailer chance to resolve....
Next time make sure you buy direct from Amazon, you will have a better chance of a quick resolution. But you seriously need to rein in your anger. If you spoke to me in that manner on the phone, the wall would go up and you would get no where fast. Be nice and polite and you will get somewhere.Life in the slow lane1 -
You do appear to experience a large number of service related issues from a large number of companies going by your previous threads. I think with all the bad luck you've been getting, I'd be going to a real shop to buy things in future, rather than buying online, would save a lot of hassle. Once all these lockdowns are over - you might want to consider doing more off-line shopping wherever possible in order to avoid these regular headaches.0

**UPDATE**
I have finally got what I wanted, after 2 weeks and delay after delay, it finally happened. I have a full refund at last! Now I just have to wait for it to arrive in my bank account so I can use it to get the drive I ordered from Amazon itself rather than a "Marketplace seller".
Amazon have also aknowledged that their customer service was not up to standard, and that is one thing I did not expect.
A big shout out to a certain chap from ECR for helping push this deliberately delayed, open and shut case though.0 -
There ya go, didn't I tell you it wasn't personal and if you had a bit of patience it would all work out in the end.
BTW the acknowledgement 'that their customer service was not up to standard' is just part of the script for any complaint, to make sure the customer goes away a bit happier and may therefore come back - absolutely normal practice.Past caring about first world problems.1
