She is beautiful. Change the Union Flag for a Welsh Dragon and she's perfect.

And you know for sure that it comes under DSR? And that it's still within 14 days?

Nothing the OP's told us says that.
The OP said they bought it online without seeing it. Post number 2.
I was merely pointing out their correct legal position unlike you.

  • Having bought and sold lots of bikes over the years, the biggest thing I've learnt is 'TEST RIDE' I once made the mistake of buying a (nearly new) bike after reading and watching many reviews and whilst it wasn't a complete disaster I was so glad to sell it after only 2 years, it didn't suit my style of riding at all. I appreciate in current climate test ride may not be possible but if your unsure of anything you really should have waited, remember no one bike is everything to everyone and there are too many parameters to take into consideration when making your decision. Test ride answers a lot of questions.

Which, in itself, is not enough to bring it under DSR.

And that's assuming he did so within 14 days.

I had some idiot come back to me with a car he'd bought from me (I'm a private seller) telling me his wife didn't like it, and would I take it back. The mind boggles sometimes!

If it's a private individual, don't even bother them with the question - you have no rights at all to a return.
If it's from a business, you need to clarify who and the time periods involved.

Shame the OP hasn't come back  - seems to happen a lot.
Obviously not too bothered about the situation

Because most people on this forum go for the attack rather than helping, and then the usual few get into arguments amongst themselves.  It's why these particular forum has become a melting pot of hate and bitterness and any new blood quickly leaves.

DSR has not been law since 2014: since then the Consumer Contract Regulations apply. But only, in this case, if the OP bought it from a trader. My reading of it is that it was a private sale. In which case, neither apply.
My first thought however, was that the post was a wind-up...

If we're going to play pedant I didn't say "Distance Selling Regulations" I said "distance selling rules" because I know the DSR ceased to exist. I put it in that wording because it's easier to get the point across than saying Consumer Contract Regulations. Unlike you I didn't read anything into their post hence giving both positions.
If you're going to be a pedant make sure you do it properly so you don't look like an idiot like most pedants usually end up doing.

Can anyone tell me where I stand when I've bought a motorbike and found it not suitable for my needs and want a refund?
    Wind up methinks  :-)
