Dream home, but it is on the corner of a junction

We purchased our first home two years ago, and it's safe to say it was a bit of a disaster. It had a lot of work needed done to it that we didn't realise before buying, and the longer we lived there the more we resented the place. After trying to persevere, we decided enough is enough so went looking for our next home. To our luck, a house we always admired came up for sale in the town we live in. It's also immaculate, and we viewed it three times and every time we couldn't fault it.
The house is parallel to one of the main exits to the town, and out front is a road that leads to the town as well, but usually being used by folk going to the town's supermarket.

While the house is not directly on the road, I just wanted to ask others that have experience living in similar circumstances and how they find living in such a location, i.e. does the noise of traffic bother you? I realise there is always some compromise when finding a home, but I'm just worried about making another house buying mistake!
Thanks!!

Do you have cats?
Are there traffic lights at that junction?
Could that land behind be built on?
Can we have a street view link?2024 wins: *must start comping again!*2 -
I spent my first 20 years as a boy in a house on a busy road into town. I HATED the constant traffic. It has probably made my hypersensitive to noise and I personally could never go back to living in a house on a through road, let alone a busy through road.In normal times i would suggest you go there in rush hour and just sit in your car and see how much traffic goes past.3

I'd want to see it in rush hour, to see if getting to the house will be an issue. Tricky at the moment of course. Does it have enough off street parking that you won't need to find a space on the road.
Why not tell us exactly where it is, we can all take a look.

I live on a main road now after always living in cul-de-sacs. At first I really noticed the road noise. Not just the cars but the sirens and the worst thing - the little mopeds! But you do get used to it. I think you can get triple glazing that really helps with road noise.I guess it depends on how busy is busy...my house is on a road that’s busy constantly as it’s the main road in and out of my town. If your house is on a road that’s only busy at certain times then you might find you’ll be at work during those times so won’t bother you anyway.0

Thank you far all the reply's so far. Here is is the house on street view. As you see it's up off the road, so perhaps some of the noise will be deflected somewhat, or am I just kidding myself!?0

I don’t think that would be a problem for me regarding noise. My only concern would be privacy. I prefer the standard cul-de-sac style and wouldn’t want to live on a main road like that. That’s personal preference though. I think it’s normal to have some doubts but ones that can be easily forgotten, if this isn’t then perhaps you need to do as others have suggestedOfficially a homeowner 🥳🥳

I live 50 yards from a very busy road. I’m sat in my garden now. Yes I can hear the cars but it’s never bothered me one bit. I used to live in central London so maybe that’s why it doesn’t bother me. Having said that I literally grew up in a one road village that was silent.0

Oh that’s a lovely house. I guess not looking directly onto the road may help to lesson the noise. Is the living room at back of the property?1

That's a gorgeous house. I can see why you like it. That road doesn't seem like it would have terribly fast traffic which I think would be worse than the odd traffic jam. I was thinking you were talking about an A road which would be a definite no from me.

Looks amazing and I wouldn't hesitate myself. Looks rural to me!1
