second pregnancy scan

i know my sister had a sexing scan, only a 2D one though and it was really cheap, around £30 (eight years ago - our hospital was going through a phase of refusing to reveal the sex).
jase, i wanted to know the sex too, i have a boy already and our 2 bed shoebox is tiny. we're having another boy but i wanted them to have their own rooms anyway, spud will probably be 9 by the time this one arrives and i really hated sharing a room with my sister while i was growing up. i loved my brothers to bits but never loved her and i think having to share might have had something to do with it - mind you my brothers also shared, and it never stopped them being best friends, so maybe it's just me being horrid lol! we looked for a loan and grabbed a cheap one but it's been sat in the bank for 5 months, our first builders quote came in today and is ridiculously expensive, so we're waiting on others, it's taken us this long to find an architect, get plans to the council and get some builders to come round. to begin with i had ideas that the extension would be built in time for the baby arriving, but i doubt even the expensive builder could get it all up and finished within 6 weeks, even if we could afford him :rotfl:52% tight0 -
Here in Medway an anomaly scan at 20-22 weeks is standard (or it was 2-3 years ago), which I would have thought it was in most places, as it checks over the whole body of the baby.
A dating scan at 12 weeks isn't always given, particularly if you are certain on your dates, although I had one both times.
They wouldn't confirm the sex here during the anomaly scan, just in case! A friend of mine's baby had her legs crossed so you couldn't tell so don't hold your breath!0 -

Not the entire Midlands. I had 3 scans in warwickshire (8 week check (as I was bleeding), 12 wk dating and 20 week fetal anomaly))
Over the border in coventry it's 1 scan only at 16wks.
The midwife will let you know.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Hi
Just had a second scan today on our baby, we did have to go private though at a cost of £75, it was worth every penny as we founs out we are having a girl which is great as we already have a boy and to have one of each is ideal to us.
Just thought i'd share the news with you

i had a scan every 3-4 weeks from being 7 weeks pregnant. There was no expected pregnancy problems it was done for my ease of mind. I'd had a previous baby born at 22 weeks (didn't survive). Although the problems that caused this early birth were a 'one off'. i told the consultant how worried i was and it was making me anxious, worried etc etc so to simply make me relax about that pregnancy they scanned me every 3-4 weeks.
In my area they offer 12 week scan and a 20 week scan as routine.0 -
