Help to save query

Hello
I recently learned of the help to save account through Martin and applied for it but the gov.UK website said I wasn't eligible add I hadn't earned enough money during my last monthly assessment period, I am on universal credit.
I was paid for some work at the beginning of June, over the minimum requirement of £604.56 , so should I be able to successfully apply for it in July then?

Help to Save Query - I have been getting Universal Credit since I was made redundant in December 2019. I have no other means of income apart from my UC, Am I not eligible to use this to help make a saving. I noticed it states that the criteria is that you should be working and getting UC, is this correct ? I am seeking work but not currently working but getting UC. So are people who are seeking jobs on UC not entitled, do we have to be working ? Any help would be great thanks.0

That's certainly the implication from https://www.gov.uk/get-help-savings-low-income/eligibility, yes.samgordon67 said:Hello

The eligibility criteria are explained in the above link, which clarifies that UC claimants are only eligible if working during the previous month.Teri0567 said:Help to Save Query - I have been getting Universal Credit since I was made redundant in December 2019. Yes, wait until the end of your UC assessment period, and once you have received your statement showing your entitlement to UC AND earnings of above £604.56 in the last month, then go ahead and apply online. Note that if it is a joint claim for UC with a partner, both you AND your partner will be eligible to open a Help to Save account for double the fun! As long as you are eligible on the day you open the account all is fine, and you get to keep the account earning your bonus for the next 4 years.eskbanker said:
