You had to be asked several times by more than one poster if you'd done an empty wash on a high temperature.
And when you did answer you simply said 'yes' rather than explaining what the results were.
who asked  me if id done a 'high temperature' wash? i responded yes as ive checked frequently if the water is hot by placing my hand on the glass.

its hard for me to respond as i cant work out how to quote more than 1 person in a post.

But you didn't say what the result of checking if the door was hot or not.
You simply answered 'yes' - with no information about whether the door felt hot or cold.

People are trying to help you determine the problem with your washing machine.
I'm not trying to be difficult here - just trying to point out that you'll get more help on public forums like this if you do answer questions properly.

I can't offer any more suggestions about why your washing machine is shrinking your clothes as it doesn't appear to be a thermostat problem so I'm out.
I hope you manage to find out why somehow.

What kind of clothes are they that are shrinking?

Many clothes stretch as you wear them.  When I put on my jeans after a wash, they're snug fitting.  After a couple of days of wearing them, they are looser.  The snug fit is the size they are meant to be and my movement (and lockdown chub) stretches them.  This also happens with t-shirts, dresses, skirts and even undies.  Some of my dresses actually get longer as I wear them (they are made of jersey, like soft t-shirt material)!

I would (politely!) suggest that during lockdown you have perhaps put on a little weight (or lost some muscle and gained some fat) so when your clothes come out of the washing machine back at their original size, you think they have shrunk.  Measuring them would show them as smaller coming out of the wash, but the measurement you should be taking is before and after wearing, so you can see if they are stretching during wear.  Before lockdown, you might not have noticed the tighter fit because you were a little slimmer.

If you've ruled out a temperature problem with the machine, I think this might be the most likely cause.  It's just co-incidence that you got a new machine around the time lockdown started.  I think a lot of people all over the country are experiencing "shrinking clothes" right now!

I fast spin pretty much everything, as it then dries quicker.  Nothing has ever shrunk.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

yeh sorry you're right, im dyslexic and was getting confused trying to quote numerous questions so forgot to actual type 'glass door had remained a little colder than room temperature' when i was editing my responses.

yeh thats why i didn't try to sort problem out sooner when i noticed clothes were tighter, so went back on keto diet after couple of months and can now fit into jeans that i meant to chuck out pre-lock-down as i couldn't close the button on them. So ive actually lost a little bit of weight. But everything i washed in this machine is too tight to wear still. Even my socks are tight now.

Most of the clothes are underwear and tshirts which im not too fussed about(although annoying as the restrictive now) but also trousers and a couple of shirts.
I first noticed problem with a shirt and expensive tshirt which now looks like something charlie Chaplin would wear(although can now close buttons due to keto and soaking in conditioner/water overnight) as they're totally unwearable. They just look comical.

The collars on my t shirts and elastics are all wavy and mishapened plus some items up-to 2 inches shorter. I can physically see they're smaller. I know what jeans feel like after coming out of washing machine and this is way too much shrinkage for just normal washing.

Im using aldi washing  powder so ill try something different as im all out of ideas.
my previous washer shrunk couple really old t shirts a bit but not beyond wearing.
