Social media could be useful. If I were you I would make an image that shows the sales picture side by side with the reality and tweet this at the developer explaining the issue and that the developer has washed their hands of it, tag the local paper, MP, councillors anyone else you can think of. Repeat on facebook. I don’t even use twitter but I would set up an account to do this!

I'd really like to see more pics of how this all lays out, because I can't figure it, either.

I'd also like to see the site plans from the reservation phase... The path was already there? So there was always going to be that distance betwixt house wall and path.

Can the dwarf wall come down and re-profile the footpath to a shared area permitting the turning radius to be increased?

So basically, do your neighbours have nowhere to park, as their drives are too tight, and they can't block the access road?  Or do they have more room?

At least being on the far end you can park at the end, in the road, but without anywhere to turn round.

Unless I've completely misread the layout.

I hadn’t realised you were the cream rendered house, but now you’ve shown the grass area that has been removed, it makes more sense. Can I ask, is it easier for your neighbour to get into their drive? As they can pull up along side your drive and then full lock reverse back into their own driveway or is it tricky for all homes on that street?

    Just a thought ...

Could a concrete "dome" instead of steps to your front door help.   That way you can get much tighter to the corner of the house to reverse up your drive, driving up and over the dome, rather than risk clumping your wheel on the bottom step?

What is the measurement from the corner of your house, to the wall?

  • So you can park on the private road in front of your house?

Not sure why anyone would buy a house on a private road as there is going to be murder when you need to do any repairs. One neighbour wants this, another neighbour won't pay, another house is rented and the landlord couldn't give a toss.

Yes, the neighbours could always ‘just’ get on, as they were able to pull in front of their house and reverse back into the drive, which we couldn’t do without putting tarmac on the garden. They however cannot turn right out of their drive as the developer did not remove a step from the house next door to them, so they turn left out of their drive and reverse out of the road.  This is what they did to fix, moved the wall 30cm and took the first steps away from the house to make more space, so it is now better, but still tight and not what we bought. And, I attach the plan used to build, showing a car that must be able to rotate on the spot! Where can that car go?? The plan is flawed, but they say ‘built to plan’.

That plan looks crazy tight from the outset to me. Are there dimensions (hard to see) and are they correct in reality?
