    Hi Skint,
We are not posh enough to have a wine bar..
    But I echo your sentiments...
Money saved or made MUSt go off debt... not to the pub!!

I'm not posh either lol! I think I see the expenses as a bit extra and not to be counted on so therefore don't include it in the budget and it doesn't matter if I spend it - off to have a look at the snowball with average expenses included this time! this could be the shock I need.

Wow SS, just looked at your sig.. you seem to be doing so well:j
Be careful about factoring in the expenses 'cos i find that if you keep it all too tight you quickly get to that 'What the F...' stage and spend 10 times more to make you feel ok.

  • The main thing that I am going to do is to give up tv and wasteful internet browsing.

I say give up the tv, I mean set myself a strict amount to watch, which will probably be two football matches a week maximum.

    Hi,

What I am going to do is.......

    1) file away statements/wage slips and other financial things
    2) stick to my budget (I have £50 per month to spend on 'things' which are not in my budget (drinks, mags, parking etc), and track what I am spending
    3) Get a 1st class pass in my Book-keeping exam (signing up for course today to start Feb), so that I am a qualified book-keeper
    4) Save £2 coins & 20p and under til the end of the year (see sig)
    5) Quarterly have a day off work to call creditors to make sure that their balance reconciles with CCCS statements and update my sig
    6) Track my savings to make sure that I am getting the best deal available
    7) Not use my mobile phone as often. At the moment, I have £80 credit on it, I would like to make that last 6 months
    8) Use my gym membership, even if I just do 3 classes per week
    9) Continue to take packed lunches to work
    10) Eat healthy (including breakfast) combined with step 8 so that I am able to loose the weight I need
Debts at the start of my journey - about £23,000 lightbulb moment 01.03.2007 (1st payment to CCCS)..Debt Free Date 25.06.2013 Deposit savings £17,000/£30,000

    Ok, here goes. I will:
    • deal with the post as it comes in each day
    • do surveys when they come in my in-box
    • budget budget budget
    • not spend so much money on chocolate
    • get on top of my housework
    • remember the small things matter - and do those daily clicks!
    • not buy anything if I do not have the cash to do so
I am sure there will be more yet......may come back to add them in due course!
