Mine's pretty boring. I'll be debt free by February, then I just want to make sure I avoid debt and bank charges like the plague.0 -

Hi everyone - great thread!
My main aim this year will be to reduce my spending. I have worked out what I think is a fair budget for everything throughout the year including treats etc and added a contingency..... I am going to 'challenge' myself to cut the budget by at least 10%.
Hopefully this will stop me being good for a couple of months and then having a blow out thinking 'Oh well, I'll be good again from next month!'
Did think it might be a good challenge for the board, but on second thoughts, maybe a bit too long winded and complicated!0 -
I am going to make 2008 the year i quit smoking
Get my shopping/meal planning sorted

I'm going to try to be much more disciplined with my spending, I'm still guilty of the 'sod it, it's only a tenner' mindset at times. I want to be in control of what I'm spending so I can balance essential stuff, paying off my debts and trying to be able to do some more significant fun stuff like going on holiday.
I'm also going to do some serious thinking and research about what I want to do career-wise and maybe do some more training towards that, which will hopefully be a good thing money-wise in the long term!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
To achieve the targets I set at the begining of this year instead of coming up with reasons why I need to treat myself.Barclaycard 3800

This year I want to get debt free for once and for all but hopefully before the date in my siggy. So....
Any expenses or extras will go straight to the debt and not to the wine bar.
I'd like to get the MB lark sussed and make a bit extra there too.Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Hi Skint,
We are not posh enough to have a wine bar..
But I echo your sentiments...
Money saved or made MUSt go off debt... not to the pub!!0
