I am a new investor and have spent weeks researching.
I am considering these 4 core funds for my portfolio. My appetite for risk is medium.
Legal and General International Index Trust
Fundsmith Equity
Rathbone Global Opportunities S Acc
Liontrust Special Situations
I plan to invest for at least 10 years.
I appreciate any feedback.
Thanks

My appetite for risk is medium.
yet the selection is high risk (ignoring the fact you have not given any weightings).

I thought maybe 40% L&G , with 20% for each of the others. Maybe I need to include one lower risk.0

On what basis did you select those 4 funds?
How much are you investing?0 -
L&G and Rathbone are HLs wealth 50, Fundsmith isn’t but is a top selling fund. Liontrust seems a good UK option.
Maybe I should balance the risk more, I have read so much but still feel so confused.I’m starting with 10k and adding £400 per month across the funds. The other option I suppose it putting it all in Vanguard Life Strategy which seems a popular choice.
Input is much appreciated.. thank you0 -

And what makes you think that they are worth picking? Do you normally fall for marketing lists?

A global multi asset fund is probably a decent place to start. Vanguard is one provider, but there are several others - HSBC, L&G etc Suggest you have a read around the forum.0
