We were due to fly 21st March and received a phone call obviously cancelling and offering a voucher or refund. I asked what a voucher was and the lady said it could be used on a holiday up to March 2021 - as we wanted a holiday in 2021 to the same place we took the voucher - what she NEVER said was that the voucher could not be used online to book a holiday, you had to go in a travel agent or book on the phone - neither of which are accessible at all, what she also didn’t say was that it expires on the 31st July so we are left with. Three and a half thousand pound voucher that will expire in 6 weeks and no hope of using it - surely this isn’t legal?

Thanks, I have tried that and it is a standard generated response but I will keep at it if it eventually becomes successful - no more options really0

My experience has been different but ultimately as frustrating.
Zero personal contact, just machine emails with pseudo vouchers on and a link to form if you wanted to cancel. Despite filling out the form I was sent another email with another voucher with the use-by date lengthened and another link to a cancellation form. I've still heard nothing nor had any attempt made to contact me other than these system generated emails.
We were due to leave on 8th May and the holiday officially got cancelled on the 4th May. Technically I am due some compensation for this if you read Section 10 of their terms and conditions... https://www.virginholidays.co.uk/important/terms-and-conditions.
My only recourse so far is to report them to the CMA but I think they have breached their own contract so hopefully there will be some legal options soon.

Yes, my friend got the same e-mail and hers was lengthened, us however, nothing, no e-mails, no extension of vouchers. She gave me an e-mail address that I have now written to and this really is my very last option, I have exhausted every possibility.
I will look at section 10 of their terms and conditions, thanks so much for the link.

I haven't even managed to get our holiday cancelled even though the departure is before 20th July which Virgin Holidays have said is the first date that holidays will go ahead. Until it is actually cancelled we can't request a refund and join the 120+ day queue to get it.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

We were dumped in America by Virgin. They sent me letters requesting contact info and advised me to wait until nearer the date of my flight then canceled that flight. After hours on the phone went on text they refused to route us back using Delta and offered flight in 2 weeks by Virgin which was cancelled and I was informed no more flights and no "rescue flights". Paid £2000 to get us back via BA . Virgin sent message telling us we could use ticket for another flight but no way of accessing Virgin. Telephone and fax numbers switched off. Have they gone bust, if so what about claiming on my credit card0
