Nationwide Credit Card Charge Back

Hi,
I paid for two holidays, one with Ryanair and one with Exotica travel, both on my Nationwide credit card. Both were cancelled by tour operator. I have been unable to get a refund Nationwide do not accept telephone request and insist on claim in writing. I made a claim for a charge back on my CC on 18th May.
They have acknowledged receipt, but I have had no further response from Nationwide.
Has anyone else claimed successfully from NW?

Unfortunately everything to do with Nationwide at the moment is slow beyond belief......1

I eventually got an answer, by contacting their complaint line 0800 302015. I sent my claim on 17th and they told me it was logged on the 27th. I am told 6 to 8 weeks to respond from the date they registered my claim. "We have a back log and as you will appreciate it takes time?". "No I don't appreciate and wish I had booked with American Express?". I have registered a formal complaint.
When I previously made a claim with Amex, I got an instant refund."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Yes, the Corona virus is certainly bringing into sharp focus those organisations who probably had poor (but just about acceptable) customer service before all of this and Nationwide is one of them.1

I would be interested to see a comparison of which companies have given better service on charge back for covid 19. NW propaganda claim seems a bit hollow >

I'd agree that its been an eye-opener Amex vs the rest. Both with Coronavirus, and claims after the Thomas Cook collapse - Amex have been far easier to deal with, they answer the phone quickly, and complete forms over the phone. Other CCs insist on sending out paperwork and going back and forth via letters - ring them to clarify something and you're back in a long queue.1

Yes, seen a lot of crap from Nationwide but nothing from AMEX who seem to be putting all effort into actually helping customers.1

I've just started a charge-back case with Nationwide and it was done via secure messaging on internet banking; got an initial response pretty quickly. No suggestion I'd have to ring them.
