Good luck.Fungas said:I've just started a charge-back case with Nationwide and it was done via secure messaging on internet banking; got an initial response pretty quickly. No suggestion I'd have to ring them."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Some good news:
In response to my complaint, NW have agreed to suspend collection and interest due for the total amount of my charge back claims i.e. £2,917 from the outstanding balance due on my credit card until they have reviewed my charge back request."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

On 18th Jan 2020 we booked a holiday with TUI, paying in full ( £3,600+) on our Nationwide credit card. We were due to travel on 29th March. Boris Johnson announced a Nationwide lockdown (pun definitely intended) on 23rd March. The holiday was subsequently cancelled. After trying and failing (for over 4 weeks) to get a refund from the tour operator we requested a chargeback from Nationwide on 29th April. It is now 2nd August and our £3,600 seems to have disappeared into a black hole of incompetence. This is a large amount of money used to purchase something which was basically 'unfit for purpose' a phrase I've heard Martin Lewis use. I have phoned NW every month since April and got nowhere. On the last occasion they would not tell me if they had actually submitted the claim request to TUI !! Once this dispute is settled I will definitely close my account.0

TUI? Just contact TUI and ask for the money back, all the details are on their website. Did you actually try?0

Because we booked it via a shop (which had closed and still isn't open) it wasn't linked to a logon email on the website, plus once we had passed the travel date you cannot get into the booking on the site. The alternative was to ring TUI which I did but they weren't answering at all . TUI did ring me about 2 months later but as soon as I told them I had made a chargeback request they wouldn't do anything. so I am dependent on NW

It was well publicised that there would be delays in getting refunds or credit notes issued. That said our RCN was issued for our May holiday shortly after the original departure date. I think you pulled the pin from the grenade too soon by starting a chargeback after just four weeks. TUI dismissals now perhaps understandable if they think a chargeback is being made.
I think sadly you may have to now jump through more hoops between the Nationwide and TUI to find satisfaction and get your refund.

I'm waiting for refund from airline to the amount of £24.60 for cancelled flight on 15th of March. It's still not coming, so put a chargeback request with Nationwide a month ago and heard nothing. I need the refund, to get money from insurance claim with Nationwide for curtailing the trip. I thought that putting chargeback request will speed up things but nothing happened.

I would suggest you register a complaint. That generated a prompt response from NW for me."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I booked in a shop. My holiday got cancelled. I never had a logon. I rang up and sat in the queue. I got a refund.Kinmg271 said:Because we booked it via a shop (which had closed and still isn't open) it wasn't linked to a logon email on the website, plus once we had passed the travel date you cannot get into the booking on the site. I think you jumped the gun, you would have had the money for weeks now had you persevered with TUI.0
