Hi everyone
AOD - I admit to being envious of you having a dentist appointment - strange as it sounds!
Gers - my bedroom wall is the same - I have 3 tall bookshelves - most are mine, but some are eldest DDs. When you sort them how will you do it? I have mine by author.
Had to go into town this morning to collect a prescription, then walked back home. I called at M and S for bread and rolls and then at Homebase for a plant to go in the plant pot youngest DD bought me from little one - it has a lovely rainbow on it.
Well. I'm going to give my dad a ring and we'll check his bank over the phone, as I didn't get down this morning
Can't remember who said they were having fish and chips for tea - my dad said yesterday he's dying to have fish and chips from the chippy again. I last bought him them for his birthday on March 9th - I think we might end up having them in the garage one teatime if I'm not allowed in the house soon!
Hope everyone has a good day

Afternoon all,
Cooler here today, cloudy sunshine wanted to pick my elder flowers for "champagne" but don't know if it will stay dry.....I have the last cordial I made a couple of years ago, it still tastes fine.
Ruby.....what can I say? Will continue to keep you in my prayers. Time for big girls knickers.....
Had a lovely long email from my cousin who emigrated to the US when she was 65.......she is in lockdown due to high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.........she fell and broke her wrist and 2 fingers on the other hand (can't remember which is which) has the plaster off now.. Her son and his family live a couple of hours away, he comes every week with her groceries. Was lovely to hear from her, I sent her a long email, bringing her up to date with all relatives.
Have a good day everybody, stay safe

ROSYRED We had the rat problem some years back and also had to abandon feeding the birds and squirrels for a while. I got up one morning and looked out of the kitchen window whilst waiting for the kettle and OMG I couldn't believe my eyes! Big fat rat on the bird table..I watched where it went and it disappeared under the fence into next doors garden Throughout the day it kept popping back through, with its wife in tow, so I assumed they were "living" next door somewhere. Neighbour was away for the w/e and when she came back I scuttled round like a gibbering idiot rabbiting on about the rats. She was quite complacent about it and agreed we should summon a rat catcher, so we said we would go halves on the bill as we had both encouraged them by feeding other wildlife.
Rat catcher appeared and tracked the rats' home to under their house. They had an under house store room where the boiler etc was and the rats (with babies!!) had set up home in there. He said they have warmth from the boiler, water on hand from their fish pond and all the food they wanted, put out by us both for nicer wildlife! It was quite some time before I could bring myself to feed the birds again once we had rid of the rats."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Gers I have book stash envy. If you need someone to help put those books in order I'm your man or rather woman
Loving the yellow colour too, so fresh and sunny.
taff I'm with your OH re spiders, I would have been the person cowering behind him ! Mr Fix It has a resident spider in his shed called Harry, he's so big he will play tug of war with the tools, and win !!topsyT sorry you're struggling with your shoulder and DS2 v your DH. Hope things settle down soon. Gentle hugs winging their way to you.RosyR rats give me the creeps, they seem so sneaky. We're over run with baby squirrels at the moment and I could while away my day just watching them play tag !In some good news I've just heard that my friend has become a grandmother. Her first DGC, a boy who has been named Finley. It's so sad that she can't even cuddle him as she's been desperate for a DGC for such a long timenan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Thanks for all the encouraging comments folks. As for book order...a large number of them are dictionarys, reference books, art exhibition catologues and assorted academic books. Then there's the weird selection of books for translating Swedish into German, Dutch into German, French into German, Italian into German etc. Plus all the novels! There's a load of orange Penguins from the 50s. And so it goes on. It'll all take time.DM has been asleep most of the day so I spent some time rehanging the art work, well, at least the ones I could as I stashed three sets of picture rail hooks somewhere and can't find them now. I'll buy some more tomorrow. The oximeter I bought six weeks ago stopped working (not the batteries) so it needs to go back to Amazon. I've bought a replacement which was cheaper and better.Off to make DM a cuppa.10
