Learn direct do free courses in NVQ Maths and English as well as other stuff.

I'm as flexible as I can be. The jobcentre are happy with what I have been doing and they are picky. Murphy, yes I know- I have looked at those jobs, and every one of them I can't do. It seems unlikely I know but it is true.

Can I just ask why you couldn't do them? I appreciate it's not your area, but in my area there were jobs for shelf-fillers, apprentice chefs, printers, labourers, admin clerks.

None of those appears to require previous experience, nor any special skills (except strength in the case of a labourer and sense of taste in the case of the chef).

I will say that I've heard that this is a complete sham. A friend of mine has pretty poor English and approached LearnDirect. They were all glossy and helpful on the phone and promised all sorts of things. However in practice they simply referred him to the local college (which he'd already done). They didn't have any relevant courses, and when he returned to LearnDirect he hit a brick wall.

You have to be careful on a motorbike, especially of cars at junctions; you see the driver look once and not see you, look the other way, then start to pull out. But most bike accidents are cause by idiots taking short cuts, again on junctions.

My part time degree involved a weekly two hour journey of buses and trains. It was a real pain, but it was either that, or not do it at all.

yeah but no but isnt going to get you a job, when I ready your OP I did have a little sympathy for you but as I read on it was like reading one of SP's posts, you are either his AE or on a wind up, if you really wanted a job you would have got one, so you have to get on 2 buses to retrain, so what ?? if it means doing it for a couple of years so it enables you to get into paid employment then you should be doing it, no ifs no buts ;)
No, that's not the point I was making with the buses- it isn't actually possible to get to Llandrillo and back for college hours. Llandudno, the nearest big place that has jobs- the earliest I can get there is 10-30 and I have to leave by 4-00 in order to get home because my local connector bus service is run by a different company. And that is with 3 hours of traveling involved. To answer a earlier question I am 20  why?
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

My experience is they weren't picky at all, and looked at me like some kind of loon for all the efforts I was making. Chatham job centre is one of the most depressing places on earth, with open vandalism of the job phones and fights breaking out. The whole process seemed designed to humiliate claimants, maybe not a bad thing as most clearly did not want to work; a mixture of healthy young chavs, and people who had travelled the world just to live at our expense.

For my first job, I cleaned up sh*t for a living - literally, I worked as a cleaner in a hospital.

My second job involved filling aerosol cans with paint and having to get a bus home covered in the stuff.

My third job involved selling tea towels.

I then went and got a degree, which I paid for working in a bar and McDonald's.

I then moved 200 miles to get my first 'proper' job.

I then moved another 300 miles to get my next job (and I had to live in Wales...)

I then took a job in the USA which was fabulous fun, and got to travel all over.

Finally I returned home, looked for a job in a nice area, got married, settled down and now am very happy.

Seriously. You can start by cleaning up sh*t and end up where you want to be.
