Teletext nightmare!

I booked and paid for a family of 3 package holiday to Barbados for 24th May. Teletext did not inform me of the cancellation until I managed to chat to an advisor who I’d asked to send confirmation of them cancelling it. I asked for a cash refund and they’ve refused saying they’ve been advised by the FCO and ABTA to only give protected refunds. I said I wanted a cash refund but again they refused and sent an email to confirm a protected voucher was sent but I’ve received nothing! I’ve asked my bank for a chargeback but am not hopeful as this is discretionary. My bank have asked for all the paperwork and emails. I’ve tried getting in touch with Teletext but not able to get through by chat or phone and they’re not responding to my emails as if 24th May.

I booked with Teletext and we were due to fly out with Easyjet - had also booked into Lounge No 1 prior to departing. I had been informed by Teletext that they could not refund until they had received the money back from the airline, hotel and transfer company - Easyjet have refunded my baggage and seat costs and refunded Teletext for the flights but still not received anything from teletext. Lounge No 1 refunded me straight away. Some companies have been very good and these I will book with again but definitely steer clear of Teletext.0
