Strangely I just received an email to my yahoo account to reset my password !
BUT when I click on the link it says...
"Failed to authenticate your password reset request. Try using the reset request form again."
Could it be that its taking many days for the email to come through, so over the next few days Ill get lots and lots more emails from when I tried to reset the password over the last few days ?
I just tried to reset my password but no emails have come through
    This is annoying !

So the issue is either with MSE or Yahoo
Couldn't be MSE - the new forum is faultless!  🤣

That is a possibility although when I did it I only got the last 2 that I requested. I THINK (not 100% sure) that those authentication emails have a shelf life. Thing to do now is closely monitor your inbox! Fingers crossed.

Yesterday I tried to register an account on here (never registered before) using my Yahoo email address, but I didn't receive the email address confirmation email. I tried the resend option three times, still nothing (not in inbox or spam). I've now had to register again, with a different username, using my Gmail address instead.

Welcome to MSE, and congratulations on the tenacity you have demonstrated to register your very first account here

Just as an update, I received the Welcome Aboard! email and one Confirm Your Email Address email to my Yahoo account at 03:30 this morning. The email confirmation worked so I now have two accounts. How do I delete the one I now don't need?

That's good news. You COULD contact the forum team and ask them to delete the unwanted account or just leave it idle and not post on it. I expect there are a few people with more than one account now, due to the activation debacle. It's not like you made loads of posts on it.

I just received another confirmation email at 15:31, exactly 12 hours after the last two came through. The email headers seem to show that the emails were only received by Yahoo's mail servers a second before they were delivered to my inbox, which suggests the reason for delay is on the forum's server end and isn't a Yahoo issue.

According to the thread here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6149297/missing-email-notifications#latest, someone who was having notification email problems queried the problem with the Forum Team and had a reply saying they have been having some problems with their emails over past few days and are hoping it will be resolved soon.

That explains a lot 🙄 I've said it before, fix one thing and mess up something else.....
