Hi All, I had in the post this morning my renewal quote from the RAC, from the 24th June the cost for the year is £267.25, this year it was £236, for this I get breakdown cover up to seven call outs, recovery, any UK destination and at home roadside recovery which is included in the seven visits mentioned earlier, this covers my wife and myself across two vehicles, would the AA or Green Flag be cheaper, please advise and thanks in advance

I find it hard to believe anybody would be more expensive than that... That's not even personal cover?

That's more than I'm paying for my insurance which includes free RAC cover !

    Cancel and reapply.

Do  online quotes and check for yourself.
  • I personally would say that is very expensive
We currently pay £81 with green flag which covers two of us driving any car

Go elsewhere for your cover and make use of Cashback sites such as Quidco for even greater savings.

I get family RAC cover including home start (or whatever they call it) for nothing.  Well, Tesco clubcard points.  Have been doing it for years now.

Fine for those who shop at Tesco and collect Clubcard points, as I do.
Renewed personal RAC cover, Roadside, Recovery and Homestart, last March. It was about £48 in Clubcard vouchers.
    £267 wow!

Are you on auto renew and haven’t bothered checking each year as that is way OTT...I would change on principle as it looks like they have been ripping you off for years...the price of loyalty?

For £267 i assume an AA van follows you on every journey for the year?

If not, follow the guide here for the best price.
