Calculating the amount outstanding: for my loan with Northern Rock (!) I had a table that they sent me showing for each month the capital repayment and the interest. I had to get that table because its for my French property, and I claim against the interest - but Northern Rock didn't charge me for it, tho of course they might now, being so broke! So you might be able to get the loan people to do it for you.

I agree with Seaxwyn about how punishing your minimums are, hypno, whether you've got a full-time job or not, they're *so* high.

Working in the bar this afternoon - it is very hot, and I am very tired! Wish I could close up now, but am on shift until 7 so still some way to go!

Yes, minimum payments are punishing - that is why I am so stressed so much!! But yes, a holiday every month - now that would be good

Right, best get back to work. Catch up with you this evening. Hope you are having a good day everyone!

I use the debt planner bit of Quicken so I know how much I have paid goes off the capital and how much goes off the interest. You can see the same details more or less on www.whatsthecost.com in your snowballs. I have my loan as a separate snowball (and one combined with my mortgage) and know my loan settlement fig is outstanding plus I think 56 days interest (so roughly 2 months int).
    Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

    Happy Weekend before Christmas Hypno!

Having missed four days of Hypnoland, I can't beleive how busy you have been! So amazing you are... how do you do it???

Best Wishes and a very Happy Christmas the Hypno Family...and a virtual toast to Hypno and her inspiring dedication to being Debt Free!!!

Back home and whizzing up a strange sweet and sour pasta concoction - with some turkey breast and some fresh pineapple (friend gave me a pineapple as it was on BOGOF!) for dinner.

rtandon - thank you for the Christmas wishes! Hoping you have a good one too!

Yes, ISOM, chilling I think this evening. I have signed up to slicethepie so might do a bit more of that for a few more pennies. Every little helps. Then I want to watch Hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy later this evening when the kids have gone to bed.
