I have the following courses to run - none of which have been run before so a blank canvas:

    Employment rights, contracts and pay.
    Understanding and Managing Stress
    Confidence Building and Self Awareness
Developing and starting your own business

Of course, there is a huge range of abilities, ages and attitudes in each group, so every course is going to be different - but I do need a "core" to work to!

Ho hum......will keep looking! At least it is not costing me anything :D

I've found "People Skills" by Neil Thompson, very helpful for theory around confidence and stress. It's divided into parts; personal effectiveness, interaction skills, intervention skills. It basically teaches you how to deal with dealing with people, so should be effective for a teaching role.
Can send you a chapter to browse if it'd help? I have all my books scanned up on my laptop.

If you are working with under 25s, I'd recommend the RCH Handbook for Working with Young People(think that's the right title, it's a purple book!). Makes a lot of sense.

Business, I'd always go with a for dummies book - easy to understand, easy to explain to someone else

Thanks Gemmzie - a chapter would be excellent - the information online is pretty scant to say the least! I will pm you my email.

I love the Dummies books too - they do exactly what they say! Actually, the business one is the easiest subject in many respects because there are loads of GCSE and A level books and work books that I can use if necessary - the other subjects for men who don't necessarily want to learn are likely to be a bit more difficult!

As for ages - 21 up to, well no upper age I expect!

Morning guys! Work today, so I am a good girl and have made a packed lunch so that I avoid the staff Mess, and I will make some coffee to take with me as well.

We have got to that point of the month where we are absoutely skint, so had a brief chat with OH yesterday and explained that it was food out of the cupboard or nothing until payday! He says he won't complain - just hope he sticks to his word!

I hope everyone has a good day xx

    Morning
Right Sunday afternoon challenge it is Hypno.
Slightly less rushed morning today as DS broke up yesterday so only have me to organize this morning-although the downside is the food bills seem to treble when he's home all week !!
    Happy Friday all

Morning Duchy and Choco. I have to say, despite the huge amount of work I feel that I did yesterday, my house looks just as chaotic as it did before I started
